This is a Running Assessment
Running assessments are usually done by visualizing a person on a treadmill or on land and making some clinical observations of how they’re placing their foot, striking the ground, and certain positions that they take.
At our Melbourne CBD Physio clinic, we don’t think that’s good enough and doesn’t give us an adequate idea as to why the patient may be experiencing certain symptoms or finding that their running pattern is insufficient or biomechanically poor.
To build a better-detailed picture, along with other clinical tools, we use the tool, which starts to give us a lot more scientific data immediately within the assessment to see how the person might be striking the ground, the force they put through the ground, and how fast.
We usually do this in conjunction with a full-strength assessment and joint assessment so we can paint a nice big clinical picture and therefore make some smart and informed clinical decisions and recommendations to the patient.
