Early Career Optometrists Victoria South Australia Tasmania

Early Career Optometrists Victoria South Australia Tasmania Early Career Optometrists Victoria South Australia Tasmania (ECOVSAT) is a sub committee of Optometry Victoria South Australia and Optometry Tasmania.

We organise networking, CPD, events, mentoring opportunities and more for early career optometrists. Optometry Victoria South Australia is a member-based professional organisation providing support and services to the optometry profession. ECOVicSA is a committee of Optometry Victoria South Australia. Two committees of the separate states formed in 2015 to provide further support, mentorship and ongoing education to Optometry Students and Optometrists who have graduated within ten years. In 2019, the Victorian and South Australian early career groups amalgamated, at the same time that Optometry Victoria South Australia was formed. As a committee, we organise regular events, career workshops, provide advice for professional development and networking opportunities for early career optometrists. The more members we can get involved, the stronger we are as a profession. Current members of the committee include:
From Victoria: Rowena Fuller, John de Francesco, Mina You, Chelsea Lane, Linda Bui, and Grace Hand. From South Australia: Jo Rohrlach, Alek Sims, Hayley Gobell, and Pooja Bhindi.

From recognising when referrals have the most impact, to understanding how medications can influence the eyes beyond prescriptions, participants left with practical insights and new perspectives.

Seeing two professions connect, ask questions, and share knowledge was truly inspiring, reminding us that teamwork improves patient outcomes.
