🌿In-person + virtual Aus-wide

We are a trailblazing team of Australian healthcare workers here to put an end to less-than-positive experiences for those enduring unwanted bodily pain, fatigue and tension in relation to:

- Hypermobility spectrum disorders and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS)
- Orthostatic intolerance and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)
- Dysautonomia and mast cell activation disorders (MCAS/MCAD)
- Persistent pain syndromes and fibromyalgia
- Chronic fatigue syndrome / myalgic encephalomyelitis (CFS / ME), post-viral fatigue and long COVID
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Looking through our unique integrative lens, we offer in-person and virtual consultations, movement classes, resources, products and events with our community in mind.

What’s in a name? 🦓🤔

We are called Zebras Australia for quite an important reason!

In the medical world, the zebra represents those experiencing symptoms that are not easily explained - think fatigue, tension, pain or something else.

Here’s what to expect when you visit our shiny new clinic! 👀

While most things remain the same, a handful of things are different. In this post, we’ve included all you need to know for your first visit to our new home in Abbotsford.

Just a friendly reminder that we no longer service any appointments at our previous address in Richmond!

For more info, you can visit the social story here https://shorturl.at/cqid3
This is an educational tool with easy-to-understand information designed to help individuals understand social contexts. It dives deeper into the ins and outs of the new clinic, and is filled with visuals, handy information and directions! 🏠

Today is 1 week until we open the doors to our clinic 🦓

In case you missed it, we will be located at 14-15/71 Victoria Crescent Abbotsford as of Monday 11th August!

To help you feel at ease ahead of your first visit, here's what you need to know:

🧭 Helpful Landmarks:
You'll find us just behind Gary (a cosy little café) and near the Salvation Army Store on Victoria Crescent (a crowd favourite amongst and our team and community).

🅿️ Parking:
We have a small number of allocated parking bays just steps from our front door. These are clearly marked with 'Zebras Australia' — see the image below so you know exactly where you can (and can't) park.

There's also free parallel street parking on Victoria Crescent, free 90-degree parking on Gipps Street near the bridge and a $5 all-day carpark directly across the road.

There are two accessible parking bays available — look out for the first two bays on the left and right as you enter the carpark.

🚊 Public Transport:
An 8-minute walk from Collingwood Station (Mernda & Hurstbridge lines).

A 7-minute walk from the Church St/Victoria St tram stop, serviced by routes 12, 78 & 109. Some 109 trams are low-floor — check the PTV app for up-to-date information.

🏥 Accessibility:
Our space has been designed with our community and team's physical and sensory needs in mind. We understand that these needs are often different and fluctuating. We have worked closely with our design team, alongside adopting feedback from our Zebras community on what works, and what doesn't.

The beautiful Birrarung (Yarra River) will be right on our doorstep, meaning we'll be surrounded by native trees and serene birdsong. Overall, this creates a much quieter space than over on busy Bridge Road.

🤔 Other information you might find helpful:
- Our ground floor entrance is step free and wheelchair accessible

- There's no door code this time—just walk on in and reception will be to your left

- Our consultation rooms are fitted with acoustic glass, ceiling tiles and plaster to help reduce noise

- We'll have plenty of natural light but we've also fitted warm, dimmable lighting in our consultation rooms and movement spaces

- Alongside air filtration systems, we will have access to natural ventilation

- We have four non-gendered, single-stall bathrooms across the ground and first floor

- There are 19 stairs to access our first floor, which will have the same facilities as the ground floor as well as housing a number of offices and a meeting spaces for our team

- Whilst there is no elevator, accessibility has been thoroughly considered when allocating consultation rooms and booking appointments

If you have any questions please reach out via email (careteam@zebrasaus.com.au) or give us a call (03 9938 0498) if we can do anything more to support your transition into our new space.

We'll see you in Abbotsford!

Have you heard the BIG STRIPY news?

Zebras Australia is moving to 14-15 / 71 Victoria Crescent, Abbotsford from Monday August 11th 2025!

For almost eight months now, we’ve been designing and building a space that feels warm, welcoming and inclusive for all the bodies, brains and minds in our Zebras community

Whether you join us in person, connect with our team online or you’re here for some other reason, this move signifies the beginning of new and exciting chapter for Zebras… and we’re glad you’re along for the ride!

In-person appointments from 11th August onwards will take place at our new home. It’s still a few weeks away so we’ll be sending updated reminders closer to the time with everything you need to know including directions, parking and accessibility considerations

Thank you for your patience. Thank you for sharing our excitement. And thankyou for growing with us!!

We cannot wait to share this space with you 🦓🏠

Our intention is to provide our community with a range of products, resources, outreach initiatives and healthcare services that consider the whole person, centre the body and create the conditions for self-enquiry, connection and change 🦓

For change to occur we view feedback as an essential part of the process. Your feedback is our fuel for growth. When we say growth we don’t just mean in terms of numbers, dollars or people - although, we are a team of almost twenty humans these days - but in terms of our personal, professional and organisational development ✨

And that is why for the past two years, we’ve invited our community to participate in our Community Survey 🦓

It’s an opportunity for you to let us know how we’re doing - we love a bit of data - so that we can use this to improve your Zebras experience.

We’ve kept it short and sweet - about 7 minutes - but if this is outside of your capacity right now, you’re welcome to email us at careteam@zebrasaus.com.au with your answers to these three short questions:

✨ What you would like us to keep doing?
✨ What you would like us to stop doing?
✨ What you would like us to start doing?

To give your feedback please follow the top link in our linktree (found in our bio)🦓

On the 28th of March, three lucky Zebras who have completed our survey (or responded to this email) will be drawn at random for a selection of Zebras goodies and a voucher to one of our yoga classes.

As always, we’re so so grateful for your time and energy.

Melissa, Andrew and the team at Zebras 🦓

Some T’s + C’s:
- All survey respondents are eligible for a single entry.
- Respondents outside of Australia at time of survey completion are considered ineligible.
- Entries close on Thursday 28th of March 2024, at which point the recipient will be drawn at random and contacted.
- Prizes will be available for pick up at Zebras Australia in Richmond or alternatively posted to the recipients.
- We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions.
- In the event of a dispute, all decisions by Zebras Australia are final.

Last week our team came together to celebrate all of the rainbow Zebras in our community with our first ever ‘Wear Your Stripes’ day; a day to step out of our regular neutral colour palette 🌱 and dress in a way that embraces colour and self expression in line with Mardi Gras that took place over the weekend 🌈🏳️‍🌈
