❄️ Braving the Canberra chill for the Annual Clinical Seminar! It’s always a mix of feelings heading interstate—I’m definitely not a fan of travelling or being away from family—but attending the Genea Annual Clinical Seminar is so worthwhile. All Genea doctors come together to share expertise, expand knowledge, and discuss the latest in fertility care.
Beyond the learning, it’s a wonderful opportunity to catch up with colleagues from across the country, exchange ideas, and enjoy some social collegiality. Even in the cold, these moments remind me why staying connected and updated is so important in providing the best care for patients.

August is Cervical Health Awareness Month, and it’s a great time to talk about an often-overlooked part of your body—your cervix.
Cervical screening test (CST), previously known as PAP Smears, is a simple, quick test that can detect present of high risk human papillovirus (HPV) and abnormal cells on the cervix before they develop into something more serious. It’s recommended for women starting from age 25, or after sexual activity (whichever is later).
It should be repeated every 5 years if your results are normal.
Staying on top of this test is one of the best ways to protect your cervical health and detect issues early. If you’re due for a CST or have questions about your cervical health, you should discuss with your GP or a gynaecologist. If you wish to discuss this further, or have any questions, I am here to help—schedule an appointment today. Click on the link in bio 🔗
If it's been over 5 years since your last Pap test, or you're unsure of your HPV status, speak to your GP.
Cervical health is something you can stay ahead of—with awareness and regular checks.

🎉 The Genea "Great Fertility Bake Off": IVF Meets Creativity (and Humor)! 🎉 In honor of World IVF Day last week, the Genea team had a little fun with their baking skills. This masterpiece of rice pudding in a s***m collection jar was left for me as a "special present." 👨‍🔬🍚
For those who know, knows… while the thought of a gelatinous, creamy substance in a s***m jar might not be everyone's cup of tea... the humour and creativity are definitely appreciated! 😅I’m beyond grateful for my team's amazing sense of humour (and their baking creativity), but as tempting as it looks, this is one jar I will not be tasting! 😜 .
Be sure to check out other hilarious and creative entries on ’s social media—including a s***m cake, a pregnancy ultrasound brownie, and a cake shaped like the HCG molecule (yes, the pregnancy hormone!).

One of the most common questions I receive from my IVF patients is about the identification process for biological items. I completely understand the importance of getting this right, and I want to reassure you that patient safety and accurate identification are our top priorities at every step of the journey.
Before each procedure, like egg collection, we perform thorough ID checks to ensure that everything is properly matched. This process involves multiple people, including scientists and doctors, ensuring that all biological materials are handled correctly. also utilises an electronic witnessing system with barcode technology in the laboratory, adding an extra layer of security to track and verify all biological items in the lab.
For added peace of mind, part of the ID check also involves patient confirmation during the egg collection and embryo transfer procedures. We take every precaution to ensure that you feel secure and confident in the care you’re receiving. 💙

Today is World IVF (Embryologist) Day (25/7/2025) – a day to reflect on how far we’ve come, and how many families have grown because of science, persistence, and hope. 💙.
In 1978, the first IVF baby was born. The first IVF baby born in Australia in 1980 (third IVF baby in the world). Since then, over 10 million babies have come into the world through IVF and other assisted reproductive technologies.
Every fertility journey is unique—some straightforward, some full of twists, waiting, and uncertainty. What doesn’t change? The courage it takes to begin.
To everyone who's been part of an IVF journey—whether you're starting, trying again, supporting someone you love, or holding your baby right now—I see you, and I honour your strength.
I feel privileged every day to walk this journey with my patients. Here's to the science, the teams, and the people behind every embryo transfer, every test result, every heartbeat.

After a challenging journey with recurrent miscarriages when they were trying for their second baby, Mummy-E and Daddy-C decided to move forward with IVF and PGT-A to reduce the time to their second baby and decrease the chances of another miscarriage. The result? Baby-M, their beautiful, thriving little miracle! 👶💖
As I always say: "We only need one" and sometimes, that one embryo can change everything. 🌱
Mummy-E and Daddy-C shared this beautiful message: "It's amazing to think we saw the embryo before the transfer, and now here she is! We are completely smitten, and she has one very chuffed big brother who dotes on her."
Such a precious moment in their journey. Congratulations to this wonderful family! 💕

Melbourne Gynaecologist and Fertility IVF Specialist

Dr Huang is an experienced specialised gynaecologist who has been training or working in the field of gynaecology since 2005. She is committed to women’s health and is dedicated to providing care with compassion and integrity. She started in the field of infertility and IVF in 2010 and continues to offer general gynaecological care as well as fertility treatments to women across Melbourne.

Dr Huang’s clinic includes her professional and friendly reception staff, Katie, who is experienced in administration roles in women’s health. Together, the team understands that care through the clinic is not just about giving medical care. Small things like respecting each of our patients as individuals, treating them with dignity and compassion through their treatments can all make the difference between exceptional and good medical care.

Dr Huang grew up in Taiwan, and moved to Brisbane during primary school. After moving to Melbourne for medical school, she decided to make Melbourne her permanent home when she fell in love with the foodie scene there. Although she is equally as comfortable conversing in English as she is in Mandarin, her culinary preference is definitely Japanese cuisine! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching movies.
