At AOTS we devise treatment programs focused on our clients’ goals....no matter what they may be. For some it’s using a knife and fork, for some it’s holding a glass and for some....it’s flipping the bird!

For those of you that find flipping the bird offensive, keep scrolling, but our clients tell us that flipping the bird with their affected hand is one goal they would really like to achieve….and who are we to say no???

For this very special objective we have developed a very special program….

Step 1: Amadeo Continuous Passive Movement (CPM)
Step 2: Amadeo isolated finger CPM
Step 3: Amadeo Assistive Therapy isolated finger movement
Step 4: Amadeo isolated finger games
Step 5, 6 & 7: Practice, Practice, Practice
Step 8: Bird Off with someone else who has the same goal
Step 9: Functional Practice and greeting others by giving them the bird
Step 10: The Ultimate Bird Off - being put on the spot in a room full of people that want you to succeed!!

What an amazing day we had at AOTS yesterday...

Emily Rice and her cameraman, Steve from 9 News Melbourne visited our clinic and interviewed our MD, Vicki Abraham, and some of our clients.

A huge thank you to Emily and Steve for making our clients feel so comfortable while the cameras were rolling. Shannon, Michael, Sandra, Mays, Will and Lina - thank you for opening your world to all of Australia for the 4pm and 6pm news. Thank you to the AOTS team who continued to treat clients while the fun happened, and coped with the fact that they actually were on camera too!

Then yesterday afternoon we were honoured with the title of Tyromotion Reference Site. Thank you to Wolfram Veitl and Betsey Jensen from Tyromotion Advanced Rehabilitation Technology for giving our clinic such recognition and for making the trip from Austria for this event. Thank you also to Carolyn Smith, Cantley Medical for introducing Vicki to the Tyromotion devices 10 years ago and started this amazing ball rolling for AOTS. The afternoon was full of device demonstrations, lots of chatter and laughs and even some tears as we were all emotional while our clients shared their stories for our guests.

We are all so humbled that we had such a turn out. Special thanks goes out to the HON Heidi Victoria, Honorary Vice-Consul Austria, and Karl Hartleb, Austrian Trade Commissioner for joining us at this wonderful event.

For everyone else that attended, thank you, we hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we all did.
