Developed and run by an OT and Gymnastics Coach, the group develops kids self esteem, confidence, motor skills and Social Thinking. A Gymnastics based Occupational Therapy group program for kinder and pre-school aged children. Designed specifically to develop social, emotional, motor and self-regulation skills in a fun and safe environment. Facilitated by a Paediatric Occupational Therapist and ex
perienced Gymnastics Coach. Your child will develop skills needed to make the tricky transition to prep and many years beyond. Key goals for the group will target developing:
- Waiting and whole body listening
- Introducing self and greeting peers
- Organising their body in a group
- Inviting peers to play and joining in a group
- Encouraging and complimenting others while being part of a team
- Following instructions
- Organising their belongings
- Independence and self-confidence
- Social Thinking
Gymnastics is also excellent for developing body awareness, gross and fine motor skills, crossing the midline, bilateral coordination and integration, planning, sequencing and sensory integration. Groups are small in size and kept at around 4-6 kids to enable the best therapy while creating a safe social environment.
