An initiative in Uganda. Toliwekka ( your not alone )is a community-based mental health initiative committed to making mental health care accessible, relevant, and stigma-free for everyone in Uganda.
Our current project focuses on supporting the mental wellbeing of Boda Boda riders, a group that faces daily psychological stressors that often go unseen. These include financial pressures (especially for riders operating under loan arrangements), frequent exposure to road accidents and secondary trauma, and the constant stress of navigating highly congested urban environments.
Through this initiative, we are launching structured group therapy sessions that provide a safe space for riders to share experiences, build coping skills, and receive professional mental health support. Over time, the program will evolve into peer-driven support groups, empowering riders to support one another and sustain mental wellbeing within their own communities.
At its core, Toliwekka is about bringing mental health support closer to the people who need it most, where they are, and in ways that truly matter.
Health is global not isolated to one place .
