Hi! I'm Carol and it has taken me 14 weeks to post again. I'm a great procrastinator...but here I am running my own business! Anything is possible 🕺

It's been a fun few months getting warmed up and meeting some wonderful new people as I navigate private practice.

I intended this post to be an introduction to who I am and what I do but you can read all about that on my website at carolismailsp.com. Yes, I used WordPress and created it myself after many nights of hurling my laptop across the room.

Mostly, I want to express my gratitude to all the people in my life who encourage, support, praise and show gratitude in return for what I do. As the years go by I have more and more love for the career I chose as an 18 year old - unsure of what the future held and knowing very little about speech pathology.

In fact, about 5 years ago I found something I had written in my high school careers class and it went like this:

Q: What are the personal requirements for speech pathology?
A:
- A patient and tactful approach to people's problems
- Able to inspire confidence and cooperation
- An interest in people
- An interest in language and communication.

What came first? Was this innate or did it develop over years of practice? I don't think I'll ever know but I'm so happy to be here now.
