Congratulations to Dr Zack Holmes who recently won the Adrian Johnson Memorial Prize awarded by The Australasian College of Dermatologists for a paper he co-authored with A/Prof Peter Foley on Tildrakizumab use for recalcitrant pityriasis rubra pilaris.
Pityriasis rubra pilaris (PRP) is a group of rare, papulos- quamous disorders of unclear aetiology. Conventional treatments include emollients, topical corticosteroids (TCS) and systemicagents including acitretin, cyclosporin and methotrexate.’ Biological agents, such as interleukin (IL) inhibitors, are emerging as effective therapeutic op-
tions for those with recalcitrant disease.
Currently in Australia, there are no biologics approved for use with PRP. The study reported three cases of resistant PRP successfully treated with tildrakizumab.
The Adrian Johnson Memorial Prize has been established to commemorate the late Dr Adrian Johnson, an inaugural Editor of the Australasian Journal of Dermatology. This prize is awarded for the best paper or publication in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology by a College trainee in a calendar year.
Congratulations Dr Holmes from all the team at Foley Dermatology & Associates.
