Spending the day volunteering at Tzu Chi with my partner in “love” offering acupuncture to those in need.

The path of medicine goes beyond healing; it’s about being a source of hope. There is a profound sense of purpose in calming a person’s system and offering them a moment of stillness amidst the struggle.

I’ve learned that the most precious thing we can own is the ability to give back. 💎🥂

Hyperactive, impulsive, emotional behaviour in children is often labelled quickly, but there is usually more going on underneath.

In Chinese medicine, we look at the nervous system, digestion, sleep, and how the body is regulating as a whole.

When a child’s system is not settled, it can show up as big emotions, restlessness, and difficulty winding down.

The goal is not to suppress behaviour, but to help the body feel safe and regulated.

When the body settles, the child often changes, becoming calmer, more focused, sleeping better, and more at ease.

Every child is different, and treatment is always gentle and adapted to them.

If you are navigating this with your child, you are not alone.

Early autumn in

SROLL TO SEE GORGEOUS PHOTOS BY

This is a transition season where the body begins to slow down and adjust to cooler, drier conditions

In Chinese medicine, this is when we start supporting the Lungs protecting immunity and nourishing the body more deeply

Small shifts now will make a big difference going into winter

I’m always refining how I treat, not by adding more for the sake of it, but by choosing the right tools for the right person.

Auriculotherapy is something I learned over the last week with and MD , and I’ll be integrating it into the clinic where appropriate.

It’s a gentle and targeted approach that works through the nervous system, and for some of you, this may be the missing piece.

If you’re curious whether this is suitable for you, DM ear 🌿

Bloating
Nausea
Stomach pain
Burping
Gas
Loose stools or constipation

These are common but they are not normal

From a science perspective, this often points to gut imbalance, poor digestion or disruption in your microbiome

Low stomach acid, impaired enzyme activity
and dysbiosis can all lead to fermentation instead of proper digestion

This is why you feel bloated and uncomfortable after eating

In Chinese medicine, this is often related to a weakened Spleen and Stomach system

When digestion is not functioning well, food is not transformed properly leading to dampness gas and stagnation

This shows up as bloating heaviness irregular bowels and fatigue

We do not just suppress symptoms we strengthen digestion and restore balance

In clinic I often combine acupuncture, herbal medicine and targeted supplementation

LB 30 is one of my go to probiotics because it supports gut balance and actually reaches the intestines

If this sounds like you, come see me in clinic

Or DM “gut” to get started 🌿

Salads are not always “healthy”

If your digestion is weak, raw cold foods can slow everything down.

Bloating, loose stool, low energy and fatigue are signs of poor digestion.

In Chinese medicine it is not just what you eat, it is how your body processes it.

When we support early, we are not just treating symptoms.

We are helping their bodies learn balance.

Sleep, digestion, emotions, immunity these systems are still developing in childhood.

With the right support, children often respond very quickly to treatment.

Sometimes it is the parents who ask if their child can try acupuncture.

Sometimes it is the child who asks to come back.

When mum asks,
Can my children get acupuncture too?

Yes. With the right assessment, gentle technique, and experienced hands.

Chinese Medicine supports growing bodies
✨Digestion
✨Immunity
✨Sleep
✨Emotional regulation
✨Hormonal health

Treating children early means we guide their system while it is still adaptable.

Shared with mum’s permission.

Three full days immersed in paediatrics was like being in heaven 💚☁️

This weekend I attended an advanced seminar hosted by led by , exploring the depth and nuance of treating children through Chinese Medicine. Rebecca is my favourite Chinese Medicine mentor and I am so grateful for being able to attend her course for the 3rd time now! 💚

We covered complex and increasingly common presentations including , anxiety, depression, sensory disorders, and cognitive development.

We also revisited foundational theory such as Five Element personality traits and Luo channel dynamics, and how these patterns manifest differently in

What stood out most was this reminder: children are not small adults. Their physiology, emotional landscape, and developmental rhythms require precision, softness, and adaptability.

We refined practical approaches including gentle needling, moxa, essential oils, press needles, cupping, tui na, laser therapy and more — always with regulation and safety at the centre.

Continued learning matters. Especially when working with young nervous systems that are still forming their relationship with the world.

At Green Cloud Chinese Medicine, is approached with respect, structure, and deep consideration for the whole child.

Food- Are you craving a certain flavour?

In Chinese Medicine cravings are not random.
They are the body’s way of communicating imbalance.

Sweet cravings often point to tired digestion or low energy.
Sour cravings can reflect tension or the need to hold and stabilise.
Pungent cravings may signal stagnation or the need for movement.
Bitter cravings can appear when there is Heat or inflammation.
Salty cravings often relate to deeper fatigue or Kidney depletion.

Cravings are not something to fight. They are something to understand.

When we listen properly the body stops shouting.
If your cravings feel strong repetitive or confusing your body may be asking for support not restriction.
