I have nearly completed my Advanced Diploma of Community Sector, and I had the privilege of being taught by Kim ODonoghue. Kim’s teaching style is both engaging and supportive, making complex concepts easy to understand. Her dedication to her students’ success is evident in the way she goes above and beyond to provide guidance and encouragement.

Kim’s expertise in the community sector is unparalleled, and she brings a wealth of real-world experience to her lessons. Dear Josie,

I am writing this letter to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for all of the support and encouragement you have given me throughout my Health Services Assistance course. Your guidance has been invaluable, and I truly cannot find words to describe how much it means to me.

There were times when I felt like giving up, but each time I considered quitting, you were there to lift me up, offer support, and push me to continue. Your belief in me gave me the strength to keep going, and now, having completed the course and my work placement at The Northern Hospital, I feel a deep sense of accomplishment.

I recently completed the ADM course, and it has truly been a life-changing experience! Initially, I felt hesitant and unsure about finishing the course, but thanks to the incredible support from trainers Kim and Laurelle, I found the confidence to push through and finish all my assessments. I’ve learned so much throughout this course!

The course was thoughtfully structured, covering a wide range of topics that not only expanded my knowledge but also provided practical skills I can apply in my career in the future. Her story showcases how education can plant seeds that grow into passion, even if the timing isn't immediate. From administration to weekend home care, Katie's experience demonstrates that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to career change.

Hello, my name is Katie and I completed Certificate III in Individual Support back in 2019.

I come from an administration background and wanted a career change.

Your course was the most professional, educational, interactive, empowering course I have ever undertaken. I still remember Mandy who was our main teacher and the way she took us through each module and inspired us was really special. I still remember all the things she taught me. She opened up my eyes and really made us think about how the elderly feel.

I didn’t pursue a career in Aged Care straight away, with bills to pay I stuck to my administration job. However, the dream of looking after the elderly never left me. I’m pleased to report that 6 months ago I decided to start actively looking for a home care position just working weekends (so I can still have my steady income in administration during the week). I was lucky to secure a home care position in which I work once a fortnight on a Saturday. I still have a passion to work full time as a home carer and hope to make the move in near future.
