Today I met a young male who stopped to ask me a question. As he spoke, his eyes welled up with tears, and he shared with me that he had been kicked out of his home and had nowhere to go.
My heart felt his pain and despair, and I was touched even more as he reminded me of and had similarities to my nephew.
After our brief encounter, I had to talk myself through letting his energy go as it made me quite emotional. And still, when I returned home and shared this with my husband, I could not hold back the emotion.
As an energetic worker, part of me was thinking, 'You shouldn't allow this to affect you, don't take this on, you should know better.' Many in my field would say that this is me not managing my energy and allowing the young male's energy into mine.
But at that moment, I was a woman going for a walk. A mother who has children a little older than this young adult. A mother who had an encounter with someone, who out of despair needed to share something deeply personal about his life with a stranger and whom I felt a deep empathy for.
So I am sharing just a few contacts numbers and links for those of you who know of someone or if you find yourself in a similar situation, as overwhelm, fear and despair can cloud your mind of finding where to go for help and support.
