We would like to invite any 4th year Industrial Design student or recent Industrial Design graduate to complete a questionnaire conducted by a partner university, investigating the intersection of Industrial Design students and their learned knowledge of Electronics. This is research conducted by Barış Gür, PhD Candidate at Gazi University.

The survey is to assess ID students' needs to understand the accurate knowledge on electronics during their education. This research is pertinent to future ID programs informing on the demands for Industrial Designers to work across many fields, especially in the medical, digital, and electronic industries. Therefore, I welcome you to take 5-10 minutes of your time to complete this voluntary study and support research pursuing Industrial Design futures.

Questionnarie Details:

The research is conducted by: Baris Gur, a Ph.D. candidate from the Gazi University, Ankara.

Details: The survey is fully voluntary and anonymous. By choosing to complete the survey, you give consent for your responses to be used within the doctorial thesis and any publications relating to the research.

The aim of his research is to define these questions: How much information do industrial designers need in the electronics field and how will they access this information? Do newly graduates have this knowledge and if they do not, what kind of problems do they face?

The survey is phase two - a questionnaire. For the first phase, Baris has conducted a semi-formal interview with professional designers. And for the second phase, he has designed an online questionnaire consisting mainly of multiple selection questions. The survey has been collecting results from ID Students in Turkey and now, he is looking to expand the survey globally to do a cross-cultural comparison.

Required participants: 4th year ID student or recent graduates.
