Our first life drawing evening at Ellington’s was something truly special, intimate, warm, and quietly inspiring.
Inside the mid-century glow of the wine bar, surrounded by delicious food, beautiful drinks, and genuinely lovely company, a small creative community formed almost instantly.
From 6–7pm, guests were welcomed into the space gently, time to arrive, breathe, meet other creatives, share conversation, settle nerves, and ease into the night.
A soft entry point for beginners, for those returning to their practice, and for anyone who has ever felt “not artistic enough.”
Many left with new friends. Some said it was the first time they’d felt safe trying something creative in years.
From 7–8:30pm, the room shifted into a mindful, fully immersive life drawing session slow, expressive, low-pressure, and deeply grounding.
The soft lighting, the attentive model, and the calm energy of everyone drawing together created a moment that felt almost cinematic.
The feedback said everything we hoped for:
✨ "i sm so glad i got out of the house for this"
✨ “So inspiring to be back in the lifelife drawing space.”
✨ “I felt safe to learn and experiment.”
✨ “Beautiful atmosphere, low pressure, immersive, and supportive.”
Guided by Corrie, an art therapist passionate about creating inclusive, empowering creative spaces, each person was supported to:
– go at their own pace
– try without judgment
– build confidence gently
– reconnect with creativity
– and receive simple resources to bring more art into daily life.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an artist refining your practice, this space is for you.
Warm, welcoming, mindful, creative — a place to slow down, breathe, draw, and connect with others who value creativity and community.
