Our Story

I am John Charles, the Running Podiatrist. I have a huge passion for running and how it can help your physical and mental health. I use my skills and knowledge as a Podiatrist to help others improve their lower limb health and achieve their running and physical health goals.

I discovered running at the age of 19 when my dad entered me and my brother in the Nike Run London 10k event through the lush surroundings of Richmond Park. The prospect of training, and a hilly course on the day, was daunting but I was instantly hooked by the joys of running through the parks and streets of London. I remember being so nervous and excited on the day, with thousands of over runners all in their distintive yellow t-shirts. The buzz of running pulled me through to a 54 min time and I haven’t looked back since

I have taken part in some amazing events including the London and Melbourne Marathons, Ironman Australia (with a swim and bike first!), competed for clubs and univeristies at national and county championships, met many inspirational people and running as allowed me to do this!

I worked for the London Marathon Running Store for 8 years and my interest in runners and running led me to becoming a Podiatrist. I worked in London and then settled in Melbourne which is a perfect place to run and help other runners! I currently work at clinics in South Yarra and Prahran, am the president of Hawthorn Triathlon Club and am closely involved with a number of local running groups.
