One of the biggest challenges of perimenopause? No longer putting up with other people’s cr@p!
It might feel like a lack of patience, or rage, or like being surrounded by morons.
As progesterone (and oestrogen) decline, we feel@much less tolerant. It’s exhausting.
It’s not losing ourselves, it’s finding our true selves again ❤️

She cried in her car after work — not because anything was wrong, but because everything was too much. She’d carried everyone’s needs for years.
Then as perimenopause shifted hormones, progesterone dropped, oestrogen up and down… and suddenly her tolerance for the invisible load disappeared.
This isn’t failure.
It’s physiology telling the truth.

If intimacy has become unpredictable or painful, it’s not something to “push through.”
The Vag Hormone Assessment helps uncover the pattern gently, respectfully, and without judgment.

When she learned it wasn’t “just thrush,” but a fragile vaginal ecosystem reacting to hormonal shifts, stress, and disrupted Lactobacilli, she said:“I wish someone had explained this years ago.”
Perimenopausal periods can be super heavy, inconsistent in timing, come with PMS that is just out of control (just angry at the world???)
But they don’t have to be.
My client went from flooding periods with clots the size of her thumb, with RAGE in the lead up that felt like Jekyll and Hyde.
Now she’s back in control of her body with uneventful but on time periods that aren’t nearly so heavy and let her get on with her life, no matter what day of her cycle she’s at.

She wasn’t avoiding her partner, at least that’s not what she meant to do.
She was avoiding the aftermath- the itching, the discharge, the discomfort, the shame. Feeling like her body was betraying her.
Meanwhile her partner felt confused, shut out.
Because symptoms don’t just affect bodies. They affect relationships, confidence, and connection.

When bleeding becomes unpredictable or overwhelming, it’s not “just hormones” — it’s a message that deserves attention.

Wearing light coloured clothes during a period used to feel out of reach.
Now she feels safe, confident. Cycle re-established, flooding has eased, no longer in fear of her period.
This is what happens when women are understood, not dismissed.

She set an alarm on her phone to change protection every hour.
She stopped walking the dog far from home.
She stopped sitting on light-coloured chairs.
She stopped trusting her own body.
When oestrogen surges and progesterone drops, bleeding can become heavy in ways women are rarely prepared for — but understanding why is often the beginning of getting life back.

Changing period products every hour or 2? I spoke to a new client recently and this was exactly what was happening. It started at work where she stood up and noticed a mark on her chair - yep she had bled through her clothes. Feeling embarrassed and ashamed she tied a jumper around her waist and headed home as quickly as possible.
It’s normal to have heavier periods in perimenopause. It’s not acceptable to put up with this level of bleeding.

Painful periods aren’t a personality trait, they're not normal or something that just has to be "put up with". They’re a signal.
So many menstrual symptoms get brushed off as “just part of being a woman.” But common doesn’t mean normal.
A woman I spoke to recently was getting periods so heavy she was having to change products every hour and hated having to leave the house on the first couple of days of her cycle. She would feel the clots passing, they were so large and heavy. Add to that irritability that feels like Jekyll and Hyde in the lead up and the exhaustion. OMG, it's just so hard to function those few days.
The body speaks through patterns. We want to listen and understand to be able to change this pattern.
