It has been some time since my last post, life (work and family) as is often the case, has got in the way.
Now in these uncertain times I feel reaching out to the ‘More than Birth’ community very timely.
Women are still preparing for birth,
babies are still be being born, women are facing baby feeding challenges and parents are navigating their parenting journeys.
Because of the importance of social distancing and the isolation that is the consequence many families have lost the usual support that they would have expected from family and friends.
I would like to encourage members of the More than Birth Village to post their questions regarding birth, breastfeeding and early parenting - and in my role as
Childbirth and Parenting educator, Maternal And Child Heath Nurse and Lactation Consultant I will endeavour to offer support and strategies through this forum.
Share with the community strategies that are working for you and yours. The highs and lows of this new way of being.
In addition I recommend making the most of social media and in particular all the communication apps (Zoom, WhatsApp etc) to stay in touch with family and friends so they can continue to provide the support and contact that you and they need.
I look forward to reading your posts and providing any support that I can.
In the meantime stay safe and be there for each other.
