As early as the 1930s, Soong May-ling began using massage techniques to maintain her health.

She first encountered massage knowledge when her mother frequently fell ill in her later years. A pastor suggested Soong May-ling to use massage to alleviate her mother's pain.

It was from that time onward that Soong May-ling began to learn and understand the principles of massage, and she started massaging her own chest and breasts. In medical books, she had read that massage can stimulate the thymus to secrete thymosin, which is beneficial for women's health and beauty. It also enhances the production of T lymphocytes, boosting immunity and strengthening the body's resistance to diseases. Full-body massage helps relieve fatigue too.

From 1945 to 1975, Soong May-ling cultivated the habit of full-body massage as a form of healthcare, an attitude that is highly commendable.

PS: Soong Mei-ling (also spelled Soong May-ling; March 4, 1898 – October 23, 2003), also known as Madame Chiang, was a Chinese politician and socialite. The youngest of the Soong sisters, she married Chiang Kai-shek and played a prominent role in Chinese politics and foreign relations in the first half of the 20th century.

"The Grove of Apricots, Bright with Spring Blooms" 杏林春满
It's the legend of D**g Feng from the state of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period, who lived in seclusion on what is now known as Mount Lu in Jiangxi province.
He treated patients free of charge, asking only that those cured from serious illnesses plant five apricot trees, while those with minor ailments plant one.
Over the years, more than a hundred thousand apricot trees were planted, which grew into a lush forest.
The phrase "the grove of apricots, bright with spring blooms" has come to symbolize and praise doctors for their exceptional medical skills.

Some Chinese characters and a Chinese proverb.

Some of the Chinese characters consist of two parts, one part implies their meaning, one part represents their pronunciation.

通and痛, these two Chinese characters have the pronunciation part in common, 甬, hence they pronounce similarly, like “tone”.

The meaning part of 通 is 辶, which means “through”, so 通 means “connected”, “unblocked”.
While the meaning part of 痛is 疒, it literally means “sickness”, and 痛 means “painful”.

In this Chinese proverb 通则不痛，痛则不通, 则 means “then”, 不 is simply “not”.
It means, if unblocked then you won’t feel the pain, if you feel painful, then it’s blocked somewhere.

We can swap these two characters 通 and 痛, and either statement, 通则不痛 or 痛则不通, stands.
