Heavy periods shouldn’t be something you simply “put up with.”

Menorrhagia is the medical term for abnormally heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding and it’s more common than many realise.

There are many possible causes from hormonal imbalance and fibroids to thyroid issues or certain medications and the right diagnosis is key to finding relief.

Treatment can range from medication and hormonal support to procedures that help reduce bleeding and restore balance.

You don’t have to suffer through heavy periods. There are options and you deserve to feel well every day of the month.

This week is all about you and your journey into parenthood 💜

Did you know 1 in 5 mums and 1 in 10 dads experience perinatal anxiety or depression? That’s around 100,000 parents in Australia every year.

This Perinatal Mental Health Week, take just 10 minutes for yourself. Pause, check in with how you’re feeling, and share it with someone you trust or bring it to your next appointment.

Feeling overwhelmed or anxious doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re human. You don’t have to carry it alone.

You don’t have to carry it all on your own. I’m here, and your care team is here too. Your well-being matters. When you’re supported, your baby feels that support too.

Visit https://www.pmhweek.org.au/ for additional support and useful resources.

💜Early detection really can save lives 💜

It’s Cervical Cancer Awareness Week and here is your reminder to take charge of your health and staying informed.

Regular cervical screening can detect changes early and often before there are any symptoms.

Did you know some states now offer self-collection options for screening? It’s private, safe and gives you more control over your health.

And don’t forget the HPV vaccine as it protects against the virus that causes most cervical cancers. If you’re eligible, chat to your doctor about getting vaccinated.

Every step matters. Every choice matters. For those that have been through it, sharing your story helps others feel less alone.

Take this week as a reminder to check in with yourself. Book your screening, ask about vaccination, or simply share this message with someone you care about.

💜 World Prematurity Day 💜

In Australia, up to 27,000 babies are born prematurely each year. That’s thousands of families navigating an unexpected and emotional start to life with their little one.

It’s not the story many expect but it’s one of bravery, resilience and love.

If you’re remembering a pre-term birth or navigating the days ahead with a baby in neonatal care, you are not alone. I’m here to support you, hold space for you, and walk beside you.

Let’s bust a few myths 👇

💭 “You can’t get pregnant while breastfeeding.”

While it can reduce fertility, it’s not foolproof. If you’re not planning another baby just yet, talk to your doctor about contraception options that work best for you.

💭 “Vaginal discharge means something’s wrong.”

Actually, normal discharge is a sign your body’s doing exactly what it should. It changes throughout your cycle. If you notice an unusual colour, smell or discomfort that’s when you should get that checked out.

💭 “You only need to see a gynaecologist when something’s wrong.”
Prevention is always better than cure. Regular check-ups keep your reproductive health on track and can catch issues early long before symptoms appear.

A little knowledge goes a long way when it comes to women’s health.

Save this post and share it with a friend who might need a reminder!

There’s something so special about these early days and first few weeks. When time feels like it stands still and everything revolves around this tiny new human. 💕

As wonderful as it is, it’s also okay if it doesn’t always feel easy. Adjusting to motherhood physically, emotionally and mentally takes time. Remember to give yourself the same care and patience you so freely give your baby and ask for assistance.

You’re doing an incredible job, even on the days that feel messy or uncertain.

Fact time!

A foetus can begin experiencing hiccups as early as 7 to 8 weeks of gestation.

These tiny hiccups are usually too subtle to feel, but ultrasounds can detect them. They’re actually helping your little one practice diaphragm movements for breathing after birth!

Did you know babies hiccup this early?
