It’s Women’s Health Week and if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s this:

❤️We are strong.
💛We are intuitive.
💙And we are so good at putting everyone else first.

But this week is your reminder (and maybe a bit of a loving nudge) to come back to you.

Because:
Your health matters.
Your checkups matter.
YOU matter.

Whether it’s understanding your cycle, managing menopause, navigating fertility, or finally getting clarity on that weird-but-not-so-weird symptom, it’s not something to put off.

Here are a few things I wish more women knew:
💬 Heavy periods aren’t just ‘part of being a woman’: they can signal something deeper.
💬 PMS shouldn’t rule your month - let’s talk about hormonal balance.
💬 Pain during s*x is not normal.
💬 Pelvic floor health matters at every age.
💬 Your mental health is just as important as your physical health.
💬 Cancer screening saves lives so don’t skip your Pap smear, breast checks, or other recommended tests.
💬 Don’t guess with Google... get answers that are tailored to you.

📞 Ready to take control of your health?

I’m taking appointments for women’s health consultations, from cycle issues to menopause, from checkups to surgery.

Let’s talk about your cycle, because it’s about more than just fertility.

Even if you’re not planning a pregnancy, your menstrual cycle can give you so much insight into your overall health.
Irregular periods, missing periods, spotting between cycles, or sudden changes in flow can all be signs of something deeper, like thyroid issues, PCOS, insulin resistance, or even early perimenopause.

Your cycle is like a monthly report card from your body.

So track it, notice the patterns, and don’t ignore the changes. You don’t need to have all the answers…that’s what I’m here for.

Because this journey can feel big, emotional, and sometimes overwhelming, I want you to know you’re not doing it alone.
Here’s what I want you to hold onto when you walk through my door:

• No question is too small, too awkward, or too “silly.” If it matters to you, it matters to me.
• Your pregnancy is unique and so is your care. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach here.
• This is a judgement-free zone. Whether you’re anxious, excited, unsure or exhausted, come exactly as you are.
• We’re a team. I’m here to guide, support and empower. You never to rush or pressure.
• It’s okay not to know what to expect. That’s what I’m here for…to help you feel confident and informed at every step.
• You’re already doing an incredible job. Growing a baby is no small thing. Give yourself grace.

I’m with you from that first appointment to the moment you meet your baby and beyond.

Let’s do this!

Let’s talk about gestational diabetes (GD).

It’s more common than many people realise, and with the right care, most women go on to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. Here’s what you should know:

• 1 in 6 pregnant women in Australia are diagnosed with GD
It’s one of the most common pregnancy complications but also one of the most manageable with early detection.
• GD is more common in women over 30
Age is one of several risk factors, along with family history, cultural background, and previous pregnancy history.
• Early screening is now recommended using HbA1c
A simple blood test early in pregnancy can help identify risks sooner (before the traditional GTT at 24–28 weeks).
• GD usually goes away after birth
But it’s still important to follow up postnatally, as GDM increases your risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life.
• Most women with GD will have healthy babies

With a tailored care plan (which may include diet, exercise, and blood sugar monitoring), outcomes are overwhelmingly positive.
Knowledge is power especially during pregnancy. If you have questions, let’s chat.

I’ve had a few people ask me about the wonderful staff that I have the pleasure of working with so I thought it was about time we show more of them here on my social media page.

Today we meet Demi! Learn more about her in this short video.

Have you had the pleasure of chatting to her?

Yes, it’s true…your baby isn’t the only one doing the growing! 👣

Thanks to a hormone called relaxin, your joints and ligaments loosen during pregnancy to prepare your body for birth. But it doesn’t just affect your pelvis…your feet can flatten and lengthen too.

For some women, this means a temporary size change… for others, it’s a whole new shoe wardrobe.
Add it to the list of things no one warned you about but you need to know!

Did this happen to you?

If you’re pregnant, you’ve probably asked yourself at least one of these questions (or all of them at 3am):

1️⃣ Is this symptom normal?
Pregnancy comes with a lot of strange sensations including aches, twinges, mood swings, and more. Many are completely normal, but if you’re ever unsure, always reach out.

2️⃣ Is my baby healthy?
It’s natural to worry about your baby’s wellbeing. Regular check-ups, ultrasounds, and screening tests help us keep a close eye on things. Rest in the knowledge that most pregnancies progress safely.

3️⃣ How painful will labour be?
Everyone’s experience of labour is different. We’ll talk about pain relief options, support strategies, and what to expect so you feel as prepared and empowered as possible.

4️⃣ Does cramping mean I’m having a miscarriage?
Mild cramping in early pregnancy is very common as your uterus grows. Severe pain or bleeding should always be checked, but in most cases, it isn’t a sign of miscarriage.

✨ If you’re lying awake worrying, please know: you’re not alone, your feelings are valid, and there’s always someone to ask.
