The sunroom and laundry in this house had become dumping grounds for anything that didn’t have a home. When belongings don’t have an obvious place to go, they end up in the “too hard basket” and accumulate with the intention of dealing with them later.
For my client, every time she had to walk through the sunroom to get to the laundry she felt shame and overwhelm and knew she needed help.
Together we worked through both spaces over 10 hours. Categorising, culling, listing furniture on Marketplace, donating what she was ready to let go of, relocating items all through the house, creating a pile for hard rubbish, booking a collection date and throwing away the rest.
When clutter takes over it can be a hugely emotional process to work through it, and it takes a whole lot of support, patience and understanding. I’m always so grateful that I get to be there for my clients in their most vulnerable moments and see them through the other side.
Organising is never just about the “stuff” it’s often about what got them there in the first place. And that’s why this work has such an impact. I’m not just tidying away their stuff and making it look pretty. I’m listening, coaching, holding and problem solving to create space in their lives for what really matters.
If you’d like some of that too, then reach out. I’d love to help! 🤍
