Hyper vigilance is one of the most challenging symptoms when it comes to PTSD/CPTSD.
You’re so used to scanning your environment for threats, that you don’t even think about it, it’s instinctual.
You notice small details that others miss, and you feel the tension in your body. Your body is braced, it’s on guard and ready to jump into action at the slightest alarm.
Hyper vigilance became your super power to survive, hyper vigilance also became your cage separating you from living.
It’s important to listen to your body, and give it the time out, rest and space it needs. Most importantly, thank your nervous system for helping you get through some tough times.
Fatigue & exhaustion from hyper vigilance can creep up on you before you notice.
