SHARON💙

When Sharon first reached out to us, she already had experience with fasting.

Years ago she had travelled to Thailand and completed a 21-day fast there. She told us it was an incredible experience physically — she felt rejuvenated and carried the benefits for months afterwards.

But something stayed with her.

While that fast was powerful for the body, she felt there was another layer to fasting she hadn’t fully experienced yet.
After searching online and coming across Tolman Wellness Centre, she said what drew her in wasn’t just the fasting itself — it was the understanding that the experience here goes beyond the physical.

She felt called to the emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of the journey.
So she came to us with a simple intention: to step off the merry-go-round of life for a while, slow down, and give herself the space to reset.

Over the ten days we watched Sharon gradually soften into the rhythm of the centre. The stillness, the treatments with our beautiful therapists, the time spent reflecting, the conversations shared with other guests walking their own healing journeys.

And as often happens during a fast, deeper layers began to surface.
What started as a health reset became something much more meaningful.
By the end of her stay Sharon shared with us that she felt lighter — not just in her body, but emotionally as well. She spoke about how nurturing the environment felt, how supported she felt by the team, and how the experience allowed her to process things she hadn’t realised she was carrying.

One of the most special things she told us before leaving was that she now wants to return every year.
Not just for the physical benefits of fasting, but for the deeper reset that happens when you step out of everyday life and reconnect with yourself again.

Moments like this remind us why we created this place.

Because sometimes what people need most isn’t just healing for the body.
It’s the space to slow down, feel held, and come back to themselves again.

And Sharon, it was truly a privilege to walk alongside you in that process.🩵

Chronic stress is one of the most underestimated drivers of disease in modern life.

When your nervous system is constantly activated in the sympathetic “fight-or-flight” state, your biology shifts into survival mode.

Blood sugar rises, digestion slows, sleep becomes fragmented, inflammation increases, and the body diverts energy away from long-term repair.

That response is incredibly useful in short bursts — it helped humans survive threats for thousands of years — but when it becomes the default state of modern living, it quietly begins to erode health.

Real healing happens when the body can move into the parasympathetic “rest-and-digest” state. This is when digestion improves, hormones regulate, the immune system recalibrates and the body can finally focus on repair. The problem is that modern environments rarely give the nervous system the signal that it’s safe to slow down.

The solution isn’t complicated, but it does require intention.

Start by building daily rituals that tell your nervous system it can shift gears.
🌞Morning sunlight exposure to regulate your circadian rhythm.
🫁Slow breathing or breathwork to activate the vagus nerve.
🌲Time in nature, which research shows measurably lowers cortisol.
🚶‍♀️Gentle movement like walking.
🔥Sauna or heat exposure to promote relaxation and circulation.
🤳Time away from Screens
🛌And protecting sleep — the single most powerful parasympathetic state the body has.

Think of nervous system regulation the same way you think about exercise or nutrition: something you schedule, not something you hope happens.

When you consistently create space for the body to come out of fight-or-flight, you restore the conditions where real healing can begin.👊

For years we dreamed of creating a space like this...

A place where people could step out of the noise of everyday life and into something calmer… something more nurturing… somewhere they could truly feel held in their healing journey.

That dream has now become our new Tolman home.

While so much around us has expanded — the land, the light, the beautiful new spaces — the heart of Tolman remains exactly the same.

The same care.
The same deep connection.
The same intention to support every guest who walks through our doors.

This new centre simply allows that experience to unfold in a deeper way. Surrounded by nature, with more space to breathe, more quiet moments for reflection, and more opportunities to reconnect with yourself.

There’s something about being immersed in nature that softens people. Conversations become more open. Laughter comes more easily. Guests connect in ways that feel genuine and heartfelt.

It’s calm.
It’s nurturing.
It’s intimate in the ways that matter most.

An oasis where people can slow down, reset, and be supported through their journey.

Welcoming our first guests here has been incredibly special for us. Seeing people settle into the space, share moments together, and begin their experience in this new environment reminds us exactly why we created it.

We feel so grateful to finally share this place with you.

Welcome to the new Tolman home.💙

VANESSA💙

Vanessa came to us from a small town on the West Coast of New Zealand — a place surrounded by mountains and nature — but like many people she had reached a point where life felt a little stuck. She’d fasted before, she’d explored different healing modalities, and she had a strong sense that it was time for a deeper reset. Not just physically, but energetically and spiritually as well.

What made Vanessa’s journey so special was the way she approached it. She arrived open and curious, but also very grounded in why she was here. She spoke often about wanting to feel more aligned, more in flow with life again — and to be the kind of role model she wanted to be for her son, someone who lives with vitality and intention. ✨

Over the ten days, we watched that clarity unfold. When food is removed and the usual distractions of life fall away, something interesting happens. The noise quiets. You start hearing yourself again. Vanessa leaned into that process beautifully. Through the fasting, the therapies and the space to simply be with herself, she began shedding layers of what she described as “old energy” — the things that no longer belonged in the next chapter of her life.🌀

By the time she broke her fast, the shift in her was obvious. Not dramatic or performative — just a deeper steadiness. Clearer in who she is. Clearer in the boundaries she wants to hold when she returns home. And more connected to the direction she wants her life to take.💫

And like many guests, she had the same moment when she tasted her first meal after ten days — that quiet astonishment at how incredible simple food can taste when the body has truly reset.

Vanessa’s journey wasn’t about escaping life. It was about returning to it with more clarity, more grounding, and a stronger connection to herself. And we have no doubt that the version of Vanessa heading back to New Zealand is walking into her life with a very different kind of energy.

Congratulations Vanessa! 🩵

Chronic disease is the defining health challenge of our time. Heart disease. Type 2 diabetes. Autoimmune conditions. Neurodegeneration. Even many cancers. What ties them together is not bad luck or aging alone — it’s chronic, unresolved inflammation. The NIH has reported that inflammatory diseases contribute to roughly 50% of deaths worldwide. That tells us this isn’t a niche issue. It’s systemic.

Inflammation is not the enemy. It’s a survival response. The problem is that modern life keeps pressing the alarm button. Ultra-processed food, blood sugar spikes, poor sleep, chronic stress, toxin exposure, sedentary living — they all send repeated danger signals to the immune system. Over time, that signal becomes the baseline.

Reducing inflammation isn’t about one magic tool. It’s about changing the terrain.

Fasting is powerful because it interrupts constant metabolic input. Insulin drops. Glucose variability stabilises. Digestive workload decreases. Autophagy increases. Inflammatory signalling pathways down-regulate. Studies on multi-day fasting protocols show meaningful reductions in inflammatory markers like CRP and IL-6 within days. For some individuals, reductions of up to 50–60% have been observed in structured settings.

But fasting is part of a broader framework.

Sleep regulates immune signalling. Sunlight anchors circadian rhythm and hormone balance. Movement improves mitochondrial efficiency and reduces inflammatory cytokines. A fibre-rich, polyphenol-dense diet supports the microbiome, which regulates nearly 70% of immune function. Stress management reduces sympathetic overdrive that fuels inflammatory cascades.

Inflammation isn’t reduced by suppression. It’s reduced by removing the inputs that are constantly driving it.
Fasting works because it creates a physiological reset window. But long-term resilience comes from rebuilding the terrain afterward.

That’s the real strategy — not fighting the fire, but changing the environment so it doesn’t keep reigniting.💥

CLARE💙

Clare didn’t arrive here in crisis. She arrived depleted.

There’s a difference.

After months of adrenal exhaustion, recovery, and feeling like her energy source had simply gone offline, she wasn’t looking for a miracle — she was looking for momentum. The week before she came, she was mostly couch-bound. Flat. Fatigued. No drive. And if you’ve ever experienced that kind of exhaustion, you know it’s not solved by more coffee or more willpower.

Here’s the paradox: she didn’t eat for ten days… and ended up with more energy.

That’s not magic. It’s physiology.

When you remove the constant demand of digestion, blood sugar spikes, inflammatory foods, and the mental load around eating, the body reallocates energy. Repair switches on. Inflammation drops. The nervous system recalibrates. Clare felt that shift. The fog lifted. The pain softened. The fatigue that had been weighing her down started to feel less dominant.

But what changed most wasn’t just biochemical — it was psychological.

She realised her body wasn’t failing her. It was waiting for the right conditions.
Fasting, when done safely and supported, creates an unusual openness. You’re not numbing with food. You’re not distracting. You’re present. The therapies deepen that window — physically and emotionally — and the body begins letting go of what it no longer needs.

Clare left clearer. Fresher. Proud.

Not because she survived ten days without food — but because she proved to herself that forward movement is possible, even after a long plateau.

Sometimes the most powerful reset isn’t adding more.
It’s strategically removing what’s draining you — and giving your biology space to do what it was designed to do.✨🙏

Healing doesn’t have to be a solitary journey.🌹

Most couples grow apart not because they stop loving each other — but because they stop growing in the same direction.

Life moves quickly. Stress accumulates. Roles harden. And slowly, two people who once felt deeply connected can begin to feel like teammates managing logistics instead of partners sharing depth.

The Boundless Love Experience was created for couples who want to evolve — not separately, but side by side.

While each partner completes their own fast and individual healing journey, you are also held in private couple immersions designed to support emotional safety, conscious communication, nervous-system attunement, and the release of patterns that no longer serve the relationship.

It is a space to slow down together.
To soften together.
To reflect together.
To consciously choose the next chapter — together.

This is not about fixing what’s broken.

It’s about strengthening what’s already there, so your love can meet you at your next level.

Valued at $2,000, the Boundless Love Experience is currently being gifted to couples who secure a 2026 Tolman Centre stay before the end of February.

Most people treat their immune system like an emergency service — something you call on when you’re already sick. But your immune system isn’t built in winter. It’s built every single day through the signals you send your body.🚥

🦠About 70% of your immune tissue sits along your gut lining. That means the quality of your microbiome, the integrity of your gut barrier, and the food you eat daily directly shape how well you fight infection. Ultra-processed food, chronic stress, alcohol excess, and poor sleep damage that terrain. Fibre diversity, fermented foods, polyphenols, and periods of digestive rest strengthen it. If your gut is inflamed, your immune system is distracted.

💧Short therapeutic fasting is another powerful lever. Research has shown that around the 72-hour mark, the body begins stimulating hematopoietic stem cell production — essentially prompting regeneration within the immune system. A structured three-day fast can lower inflammatory markers, improve insulin sensitivity, and create a metabolic reset that strengthens immune resilience. This isn’t about starvation — it’s about strategic metabolic rest.

🌞Vitamin D is not optional. It functions more like a hormone than a vitamin and regulates hundreds of immune-related genes. Deficiency is associated with increased susceptibility to respiratory infections. Sunlight exposure remains the most efficient way to optimise levels, but supplementation can be appropriate when needed.

🛌And then there’s sleep — the most underrated immune intervention. During deep sleep, your body reallocates energy toward repair. Cytokines are produced, immune cells are regulated, and inflammatory balance is restored. Chronic sleep deprivation has been shown to reduce natural killer cell activity and increase infection risk significantly.

If you want an immune system that doesn’t collapse every winter, stop chasing quick fixes. Strengthen the terrain. Support the gut. Use fasting strategically. Optimise vitamin D. Protect your sleep like it matters — because it does.💥
