I very rarely post anything about food, but this was so yum and easy, and very customisable. Vegan and non-vegan. This’s the first time I’ve ever made “overnight oats” and I flippin’ love oats…so that’s weird. Anyway, here’s the recipe, friends:

Creamy Peanut Butter Overnight Oats

Ingredients:
½ cup oats
1 tbsp chia seeds (optional but like, you should)
1 cup soy milk or your choice of milk
2 tbsp peanut butter (or any nut butter)
1-2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
1 scoop protein powder (30-40gs) - I used Macro Mike - Clean Treats
½ tsp vanilla extract
(Optional) sprinkle Milo on top in the morning, add your favourite berries, nuts seeds or LSA etc.

Method:
1. In a jar or container, combine all ingredients and stir well.
2. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
3. In the morning, stir again and top with a drizzle of peanut butter or Milo 👌🏼

Football has always been a haven for LGBTQIA+ women. But right now, targeted attacks on our community are being ignored by the governing bodies whose job it is to protect us.

On the ABC's 7:30 program, The Flying Bats Football Club finally spoke out about the years-long campaigns of harassment we have faced from a small but vocal group of anti-trans lobbyists.

The campaigns have been so severe that some players have quit the sport, while others were forced to seek legal protection. These lobbyists have targeted us simply because we create a welcoming and inclusive place for anyone who wants to play.

No one should face this kind of harassment and abuse simply for wanting to play a sport they love with their friends.

These campaigns are a danger to all women who want to participate in sport without having our bodies monitored, judged, and policed by strangers. We want a future where everyone is able to play on a team where they belong and feel at home.

As the oldest and largest LGBTQIA+ women's and non-binary football club in the world, we have been leading the way on inclusion for decades. Now, we need our sporting bodies to have our backs.

We have asked Football Australia to take action and publicly support our club, but so far have been met with silence.

That’s why The Flying Bats, alongside Pride Cup and the Trans Justice Project, are calling on Football Australia and all levels of the game to take urgent action and commit to protecting all their members from harassment, bullying, and intimidation.

We are calling for:

Immediate action to address the targeting, harassment, and bullying of trans and gender-diverse members.

Education and training for clubs, leagues, national teams, officials, administrators, and fans.

Genuine consultation with LGBTQIA+ clubs and experts to develop a human rights-focused inclusion policy.

Sign the petition to show your support for a future where football is safe and welcoming for everyone.

Call on Football Australia to fight discrimination and protect LGBTQIA+ inclusion in football.

Well. It has been an effing year. And just when I thought it was finally settling down, I get bacterial pneumonia - are you kidding me 🫠

So much that’s gone on for me this year has affected my capacity and energy, more than ever. Because of this, there have been (and still may be) times I need to reschedule or adjust sessions, as has been the case a bit lately.

Please know my commitment to your progress hasn’t changed - I’ll always do my best to give you the support and consistency you deserve, and I’ll communicate clearly if any changes are needed.

I really appreciate your patience and understanding during this period, and I’m hopeful things will be improving for me from here.

I’m a personal trainer and coach, but my body is not here to sell you anything.
It’s not a marketing tool, a trophy or proof of worth.

It’s just my body.
It carries me, it lets me move, it lets me live.

Fitness isn’t about shrinking or sculpting to fit into diet culture’s standards.
It’s about care, strength, play and being in relationship with yourself.

Would the TERFs be ok with me, a person assigned female at birth, who is taking testosterone, competing against cis women in sports? Is that what they want? 🤔

What Science Tells Us About Trans Athletes:

Recent research continues to shed light on the participation of transgender athletes in sports.

A comprehensive 2023 review by Assistant Professor D.J. Oberlin at Lehman College examined the impact of gender-affirming hormone therapy on athletic performance.

Oberlin concluded that “an individual’s s*x does not determine their success or failure at any athletic event despite the high level of competition.”

The study also noted there are great variations among cisgender athletes, such as differences in height, weight, training, and more. That means in the general population there are bound to be people that are better at some sport than others, but no one seems to worry about those. "It is expected that about 2.3% of a normally distributed population is likely to fall above two standard deviations from a population mean,” Oberlin explained. “These exceptional individuals may be those who are gifted and excel at some sport or athletic performance.”

In 2024, the idea that trans women athletes have an inherent advantage over cis athletes was once again undercut by a study funded by the International Olympic Committee and conducted at the University of Brighton in England. It was published in April in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

That study found:

🏳️‍⚧️ Transgender women performed worse than cisgender women in tests measuring lower-body strength.

🏳️‍⚧️ Transgender women performed worse than cisgender women in tests measuring lung function.

🏳️‍⚧️ Transgender women had a higher percentage of fat mass, lower fat-free mass, and weaker handgrip strength compared to cisgender men.

🏳️‍⚧️ Transgender women’s bone density was found to be equivalent to that of cisgender women, which is linked to muscle strength.

Another common myth is the idea that boys or men might falsely claim a female identity just to compete in women’s sports. However, there is no evidence to support this claim. Transitioning is a deeply personal and often difficult process—not something athletes would do just to win a competition.

The reality is that trans athletes, like all athletes, just want a fair chance to compete in the sports they love.

Therefore, science tells us:

🏳️‍⚧️ After hormone therapy, trans women’s athletic performance aligns more closely with cisgender women.

🏳️‍⚧️ Competitive advantage is complex and influenced by many factors, including training, skill, and individual physiology—not just gender identity.

🏳️‍⚧️Transgender women are likely to be at a physical disadvantage compared to cisgender athletes.

Let’s stand for inclusion, celebrate diversity in sports, and ensure that all athletes are treated with fairness and respect. 🏳️‍⚧️

F&CK THIS SH&T! I will absolutely not be spending $2000 renewing my CFL1 Certification this year. I will also never use a CrossFit box or compete in the CrossFit Open again, regardless of if they backtrack this horrific bullsh!t. What a sad, shameful, pathetic day for the CrossFit sport, brand and its affiliates.

The rulebook allows competitors to “confidentially challenge the eligibility of another athlete.”
