GOD, THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT ❤️
As someone who writes often, I naturally appreciate epic writing when I see it. This morning, I came across this written piece of art and it moved me deeply, so I had to share it with all of you! Not only are these words true theatre, they also act as sound advice ❤️

my brain and
heart divorced

a decade ago

over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become

eventually,
they couldn't be
in the same room
with each other

now my head and heart
share custody of me

I stay with my brain
during the week

and my heart
gets me on weekends

they never speak to one another

- instead, they give me
the same note to pass
to each other every week

and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:

"This is all your fault"

on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past

and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future

they blame each
other for the
state of my life

there's been a lot
of yelling - and crying

so,

lately, I've been
spending a lot of
time with my gut

who serves as my
unofficial therapist

most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage

and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut's plush leather chair
that's always open for me

~ and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up

last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head

I nodded

I said I didn't know
if I could live with
either of them anymore

"my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,"
I lamented

my gut squeezed my hand

"I just can't live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,"
I sighed

my gut smiled and said:

"in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,"

I was confused
- the look on my face gave it away

"if you are exhausted about
your heart's obsession with
the fixed past and your mind's focus
on the uncertain future

your lungs are the perfect place for you

there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either

there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment

there is only breath

and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out."

this morning,
while my brain
was busy reading
tea leaves

and while my
heart was staring
at old photographs

I packed a little
bag and walked
to the door of
my lungs

before I could even knock
she opened the door
with a smile and as
a gust of air embraced me
she said

"what took you so long?"

When a friend comes to you because they are upset, depressed or generally just having a difficult time, the best thing we can do is be with them and listen.
Sit with someone's pain. Being there is enough and listening without your judgement or giving an opinion.
It's the subtle things like putting your arm around them, nodding when they speak, and eye contact. This can help them feel loved, supported and heard.
Sometimes we don't need help with figuring it all out, the why or what to do. The only thing that is required is your love and full attention.❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Today I'd like to talk about how we can tap into the Divine Feminine and embrace being a woman.
The things we can do every day to feel beautiful and luxurious.
Wear beautiful lingerie. You're way too hot to wear crapy stuff you deserve to best!

Moisturise your body with the most beautiful and lush moisturiser you can buy.

Wear fragrance, and it doesn't have to be strong and overpowering. Even something subtle can change your mood and make you feel beautiful. Especially when someone comments on how nice you smell.

Look after your toes. Ladies, make sure that you get that pedicure.

Where that beautiful top you bought, or those shoes that have been sitting in that box.
You're so worth the time, energy and money it takes to feel and look fantastic. Embrace your beautiful feminine side. There's nothing wrong with being a woman and enjoying all the things that go along with it!

Mindful Smelling:
Mindful smelling can help with moments of stress and anxiety. What is mindful smelling? It is using our sense of smell to be more aware of our present moment.
Mindful smelling can help redirect your attention as you slow down and pay attention to distinct aromas. By doing this, you are taking in new information whilst cultivating a sense of calm.
I have cinnamon and vanilla hand cream on me at all times. Whenever I feel stressed or anxious, I take it out and use it. The smell is divine, and I'm entirely in the present moment smelling it. I focus on rubbing it into my hands slowly and gently, in between my fingers and the tops of my hands. It's a little mindful meditation.
So when you're a little stressed or anxious, "stop and smell the roses."

When we are at our worst, it is when we want to be loved the most.
It's easy to love someone when they are at their best, challenging to love someone at their lowest. However, we all crave and need someone who will hold us and be with us when we crumble.
It will take a solid someone to hold you in that space. Don't be with that person who walks away, ignores you or says that you're too much. You're not too much. Your feelings and emotions are your gifts.
Choose someone who loves all of you and is emotionally intelligent, and can be with you in these moments. Don't settle for anything less!

I've been feeling a little ordinary the last couple of days.
My body wants to rest. So what's the problem?
I hate feeling unwell. I feel like there is something wrong with me like my body is letting me down. I'm angry at myself and my body for letting me down. I feel lazy, useless and hopeless.
I want to resist it, and I want to fight the feeling of being unwell. But what we resist persists. So it's in these moments, I'm presented with the opportunity to practice what I preach, which is self-compassion.
My body needs to rest. I need to listen to it. If lying in bed all day is what I need to do, I need to do that without feeling shame and guilt. I need to let go of the need to be doing something and allow my body to rest and recover.
I need to think loving thoughts. Like: I honour my body; if I feel like I need to rest, I must rest. By resting, I am loving and respecting my body. So there is no shame or guilt in respecting, loving, taking care and listening to what my body needs.

All I can say is try your best guys to get outside, exercise, and eat well.
I know it is hard to not go for fatty comfort foods, especially when it's cold. My kryptonite is veggie chips and chocolate!
I try to have healthy options, at hand and I always ask myself, am I hungry or just bored? So I try having 2-4 hours of not eating in-between meals. Listening to my body and only eating when hungry.
I know it's not easy. However, try your best, and don't beat yourself up if you eat something that's not so healthy or calorie-dense. You always have a choice. The next snack or meal is an opportunity to make a better decision!🥗🥙🌯🍓🥑🍎🍍🥥🥥🥜🍇🥔🥦🥒🥕

Why is it so easy to notice and acknowledge pain and suffering in others? If you're like me, your heart responds to their pain, and you can't help but offer understanding and comfort?
So why don't we show the same compassion and understanding for ourselves? Unfortunately, we often judge ourselves harshly when things don't turn out like we have hoped.
How can you show yourself some compassion when you're going through a difficult time? You need to comfort and care for yourself in these moments. Stop mercilessly criticising and judging yourself for various inadequacies and shortcomings. Instead, befriend yourself. You're not meant to be perfect!

Choose to be a Priority, Not an Option!
Do you feel like you are an option and never a priority, especially in romantic relationships? Do you have to try to get love, attention and validation?
Chances are you most likely had to fight for the love and attention you so desperately needed, craved and desired as a child from one parent, both or your primary caregiver.
I experienced this dynamic as a child, and it was role modelled in most relationships around me. I grew up thinking that this was customary not to be seen, heard, pushed aside, not validated, or ignored. Most of all, feel like you are not worthy of love and attention.
The real issue is that we can choose partners who make us feel the same! Why, do you ask? Well, it's familiar. It's what we think love is. Once you become consciously aware of this dynamic, you then have an opportunity to heal.
You have the power. You can set standards and boundaries that are non-negotiable. You're not hurting people by doing this; you are loving yourself! You deserve to be with someone who chooses to make you a priority, not an option!.

For thousands of years, cultures have used dance as a healing force. The body doesn't lie; it wants to move. It wants to release energy. So turn up the music, move, dance and permit yourself to feel free, release some energy and heal!
