What’s my Body Clue?’ game - I really enjoy this one as it is a fun and playful way for children to consider their physical reactions to emotions, as well as learn about new emotions. It also includes a great poster of body clues which we pull out in future sessions as a visual aid if children are finding it challenging to label what is happening in their body for particularly overwhelming feelings.

💎💎Little gem jar 💎💎 this colourful jar holds colourful ‘diamonds’ which kids can choose from at the end of their session. These gems are a token of the hard work that kids in therapy do and also serve as a reminder of their bravery and brilliance 🤩🤩 kids LOVE to collect these and are very thorough in their colour choice!

As a psychologist with over 30 years of clinical experience working with kids teens and parents I am SO excited to reconnect with research work. My PhD is focussed on understanding PDA and extreme demand avoidance in kids and teens. The program of research we are planning looks to explore EDA in several ways: 1. The development of an assessment tool that directly measures EDA in kids and teens - this is a world first. 2. Explore EDA beyond autism to include ADHD and generalised anxiety disorder. 3. Measuring the quality of life for parents and the functional impact of EDA in kids and teens. It was brilliant to connect with other researchers doing brave and bold things in the area of PDA - watch this space!
