Haylee Parfett Speech Pathology is a small, specialised private practice providing comprehensive and individualised services to children and adolescents with complex communication needs in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We are a predominately mobile service and see clients in their home, kinder and school settings. The Role
An excellent opportunity is available for a passionate and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist to join our highly skilled team. We are seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist for a part time position commencing in Term 1, 2021. Initially a part-time position, two days a week, with the potential of additional days in the future. Days are negotiable and flexible hours can be arranged.
The applicant will be required to provide family centred assessment and intervention to paediatric clients with difficulties in the areas of communication, speech, language, play, literacy, social skills and challenging behaviour. Our client group presents with complex communication needs and other challenges arising from an array of developmental and chromosomal conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The role will involve the provision of individual therapy sessions, assessments and report writing, development of funding applications, communication device programming and customisation, parent and teacher training, as well as school, home, and kindergarten services. We ensure a quality service by scheduling adequate time for therapy planning, resource development, report writing, and follow-up.

- Bachelor or Masters degree in Speech Pathology
- Registered as a CPSP member of Speech Pathology Australia
- A commitment to supporting communication development
- Experience working closely with children, adolescents, and their families in the area of Augmentative and Alternative Communication
- Experience in Special Schools settings is preferable, or familiarity with these environments
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, their families and school/kinder teams
- Patience, understanding and empathy
- Current Driver’s licence and access to a car (travel allowance provided, additional to salary)
- Police check and Working with Children Check
