Looking for fun ways to build your child’s fine motor skills?
At Auburn Health, our Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants help children develop the fine motor skills they need for writing, self-care, and everyday activities.
Did you know that simple games and activities can make a big difference? Try these at home or in school:
• Playdough and clay – strengthens fingers and hands
• Threading beads or laces – improves hand-eye coordination
• Tweezers and pinching games – builds pincer grip
• Stacking blocks or lego – promotes dexterity and control
These activities are fun, engaging, and evidence-based. When combined with OT guidance, they can be tailored to your child’s unique needs, helping them gain confidence and independence.
