One treatment. Results that are still visible years later.

These before and after photos show the outcome of a Co2 laser treatment. The first image was taken in 2022 before her treatment. The second was taken in 2026, just before a lighter Co2 maintenance treatment.

Even four years later, you can still see smoother skin texture, softer lines around the mouth and eyes, and a more even overall complexion.

Why can Co2 laser produce such long lasting changes?

Unlike treatments that only target the surface, Co2 laser creates controlled thermal injury in the deeper layers of the skin. This stimulates a wound healing response and collagen remodelling process, leading to structural changes that can persist for many years.

While the initial healing takes time, the goal is not simply a short term improvement, but a lasting change in the quality and behaviour of the skin.

Years ago, treatments of this intensity were commonly performed under general anaesthetic. Advances in numbing techniques, including topical anaesthesia and Hycoox, now allow many patients to undergo these treatments comfortably while awake.

For the right patient, Co2 laser remains one of the most powerful tools available for improving:

▪️ Deep lines and wrinkles
▪️ Sun damage
▪️ Uneven skin tone and texture
▪️ Acne scarring
▪️ Skin laxity

Treatment suitability varies and a consultation is required to determine whether this approach is appropriate for your skin and goals.

Most treatments target only what you can see, not what’s actually ageing.

As time passes:

▪️ Bone provides less support
▪️ Fat pads shift and descend
▪️ Muscles lose tone
▪️ Skin begins to thin and lose elasticity

What you see on the surface is a reflection of everything happening beneath, which is why treating a single layer often falls short.

Many treatments are marketed to restore volume, improve skin laxity and crepey texture, soften wrinkles, boost hydration, and stimulate collagen.

But what does that actually mean for your skin, and which layers are really being treated?

Real, lasting results come from understanding how these layers work together and treating the face as a whole.

Are you treating the right layer, or just the most obvious one?

This is what an intentional cosmetic consultation looks like.

We believe better outcomes start with understanding, not assumptions.

That’s why every patient journey includes Visia skin analysis, Vectra imaging, and standardised photography, allowing us to assess, track, and personalise every treatment.

Combined with in-depth assessment and advanced technology, our approach is conservative, considered, and focused on long-term outcomes.

No trends. No overfilling. No guesswork. Just precision, guided by measurement.

Ultherapy education night at VCI.
Dr Catherine Law and Dr Gavin Chan present insights about ultherapy. A good reminder that technology alone isn't the treatment. It's how you assess, measure and apply it.

At VCI we use Vectra 3d imaging, visia skin analysis and high definition photography to monitor your treatment results and progress.

We will be holding more of these kind of information nights at our clinic on various topics...

Make sure you follow us and we'll remind you on the page when they are coming.

At VCI we always start with skin quality first.
In cosmetic medicine we’ve become very used to seeing instant transformations. If something doesn’t dramatically change a face straight away, people often assume it isn’t working.
But many of the most important treatments don’t work like that.
Emfusion helps deliver regenerative ingredients into the skin through controlled micro-channels, supporting hydration, repair, and overall skin health.
The goal isn’t transformation.
It’s better skin over time.

This is filler.
It is injected into our faces.
Millions of treatments are done worldwide.
Often indiscriminately.

Yes there is a place for it. But possibly not as much of a place for it as we (patients and practitioners) may like to think.

I fill the face last.
I do everything else possible to address skin quality first, as this is where you can get the most improvement in one's appearance.

Only then should we consider volumising. Not before.

Remember that tear troughs in many cases are a normal part of the anatomy and should not be filled.
