I am a Diploma qualified remedial massage therapist, Level 2 Reiki Practitioner and Craniosacral Therapist. My passion is to assist the healing of the body through the techniques of bodywork and massage. I have over 6 years of experience with many scenarios and clients, and my passion for health keeps me learning new techniques and approaches to my work. I offer regular remedial modalities such as lymphatic massage, trigger point, pregnancy massage, techniques for musculoskeletal problems, relaxation techniques for chronic disease states or to soothe your nervous system from everyday life. And I am now working deeply with Craniosacral Therapy which offers profound and sometimes unexplainable changes in the body.

In fact, maybe even more so!
When is the masculine given permission to s-l-o-w d-o-w-n?
🌿Self- reflect?
🌿Go within?
🌿Or just take breather?

Men and the masculine ways of being carry a heavy load and often do not get the opportunity to really notice how much that load take it's toll on your health, relationships, and life.

💚As a side-note, what I have consistently observed with massage clients is that woman/ feminine types generally have tight and contracted upper shoulders and trapezius muscles,- a fight/flight response- or push through, get things done muscular pattern.
Whilst men/ masculine types have tighter pecs and contracted chest muscles. A mix of fight flight AND CLOSE. (or collapse). They are holding it together, getting things done, with the ADDED protective postural reflex of protecting their hearts. ❤💚

So, in this workshop-
🐢There will be gentle guided movement to encourage you to re-connect and notice your internal states. The ol' adage- "you cannot heal what you cannot feel"

🚶‍♂️You will learn some embodied anatomy allowing you to re-form your relationship to your body to increase your internal awareness and self- communication to your body.
💪Learning what you body needs to rest and find strength again!

🚶‍♂️There will be movement to music, some dialogue, guided practices.

Bring your comfy clothes for movement and your curiosity.
And of course, bring your presence in whatever way you are feeling that day.

When people ask me “what is Craniosacral Therapy?”I often give them a blank overwhelming look 😳 and then stumble into either an over simplistic inadequate description, or a jumbled complicated description using too many big words-like Cerebrospinal Fluid, fulcrums, Cranial Rhythm, sacrum flexion extension, Stillpoint, Primary Respiration,Dura Mater- to which they return the blank look 😳.
Neither of which is ideal communication.

There is lots of information and some very good descriptions of Cranialsacral Therapy on the internets.

I like this therapist as she has a very balanced approach of both intuition 🍃and scientific 🥸knowledge.
I have been practicing this modality for 10 years this year , and I like to think I might be a little like her. Certainly all the techniques she demonstrates I use and am familiar with.

I hope this gives some answers to “what is Craniosacral Therapy! “

Let your body breathe you. Your breath is your messenger- do not interfere with it- let it emerge from within. How does your body breath you in this moment? Deep and flowing like a giant waterfall, or light and curious, gentle and easy? Or jarring and held? Glitchy and uneven, shallow and tight?
Let it be.
Let it be.
Observe your breath , just sit with it, like you might sit by a beloved or a friend.
With your breathe as your ally, ask your breath – what is wanting to be known now? What wants to be met? What has opened up inside? To be birthed and touched in this moment? What is the wisdom of longing for you to feel and metabolize?
The breathe knows. It hold all your inner wisdom and every cellular memory from your birth. It holds the rhythm and patterns from the very first breath you took as you birthed into life on this Earth to this moment. That is why it is so important to honour the breath. It knows things your mind is not aware of. If we push it into bigger mobilizations it will likely not be ready for this. This will only cause a forced sympathetic charge which is really just adrenal/cortisol coursing through your body. This gives you the feeling of expansion, excitement, strength, Sorry folks, you may feel great whilst doing your Wim Hoff and breathwork, but for most, if not all- It is a false reading .
There is a reason it is held in Freeze or a glitch, or a shallow rhythm.
Explore the subtle first, the nuances, - this is where the gold lives. The message. And then watch what emerges-a sigh, a cry, a relief!
What is your inner rhythm, in this very moment? What is the message?
Your breath is your messenger- do not interfere with it. Do not force it. Put aside for a moment what you think it should be, how you should be breathing, what you may have been taught at yoga or some breathwork session . In other words, do not let anyone interfere with it. It does not like to be pushed, controlled, or told what to do,- just like a friend. So please, let it be. Support it. Listen to it.
And let your breath open you.

So this has pushed me, encouraged me to be vulnerable and explain this video... which I casually just did in my loungeroom. Like I said being vulnerable...... anyhooooooo!
This one piece is a series of many practices I am developing and literally embodying myself before facilitating it to others. This will be Part 2 within a series of 6 week classes for Nurture Movement. Part 2 is "You and Others- in relation and creating with Other"
Here are some reflections-

Embodying other. Really BEING WITH. 💙
" I chose a flower for this practice initially because it was pleasant to look at and easy to move with as it was light to hold. But the more I danced and moved with it, held it in my held and moved my body, I could sense the aliveness within the flower and its own consciousness. Of course it is alive! Of course it has its own consciousness! It is a plant. I had to ask permission for every move, - this flower really did have it’s own mind! then it would cheekily move behind my back or away and up high or need to rest. I was determined to hold it in my attention for long as I could. I danced and moved like this for maybe an hour with my intention being to softly focus on the other ( in this case a flower) and do not lose focus. How can I be easefully engaged with other and myself at the same time, for an extended time? It is quite a demanding meditative experience. By the end I did not want to let it go. It was like a fun sweet cheeky beautiful friend- but one whom would not be bossed around. Ha! sounds a little like me….
Moving how we need to move and express, or “just be” with another, is most definitely a practice. Allowing, asking, let be, letting in, doing together, being together. Really being present to the other so that at least some of the essence of the other is received, felt and understood as much as possible.

A is a period of ‘tidal rest’. Tidal motion is no longer palpable during this period and it feels as if the client’s system has restfully paused. Stillpoints relate more to the and Mid-tide levels of tidal fluctuation and not to the Long Tide. The human organism enters stillpoints on its own accord – regular moments of restoration and replenishment. It can however be very useful in therapeutic practice to facilitate stillpoints due to their therapeutic qualities. Through stillpoints profound resources can be built in the client’s system.

Every stillpoint increases the potency that is inherently present in the system, thus making that increase in potency available to the whole system.

Potency pulsates between the poles of the human energy system, and in this way leads to the fluctuations of the tide. It is thus easiest to initially learn to facilitate stillpoints toward the opposite pole of the body from a cranial or sacral contact.

While holding the head, an exhalation stillpoint towards the sacrum (traditionally called a CV4) can be facilitated and while holding the sacrum an inhalation stillpoint towards the cranium (traditionally called an EV4) can be supported in the client’s body.
