Now Studying Equitation Science.
Since starting my journey in horsemanship I've studied countless horsemen, so many different methods and ways to work with horses. Many contradict each other.
And there's a difference between knowing and speculating and there are a lot of things said without solid evidence which would work on just some horses.
Learning ethology and the overall science of how a horse thinks and learns, it helps you understand your horse, it's stress levels, triggers, regarding their needs.
One of the main things horses get stuck on is that they are still at stages where they need to habituate to certain things and environments before they learn.
Then some horses have the complete opposite thing which many get stuck on, which is sensitisation. The horse has gotten so habituated that they won't move.
The best quote from the course "The safest thing you can do as a rider is be the best rider you can be" and now every time I connect to a horse, that's how I train.
