Pauline Aquilina from Autism Goals had been lobbing for some time to get his happening. It is desperately needed for many of the clients that we support. At Discovering Strength we demonstrate time and time again that with the right support these young people can grow up and become valuable and contributing members of our community!!! Artist Angelina picked up an Airtasker job to paint Will and Woody from KIIS 1011 Melbourne! The job - to paint what she thought they looked like just by listening to their voice! Not a bad job I think! Well done Ang! Discovering Strength does run an Art group for teen clients. Enquire with admin if you have a teen that might be interested!!

At Discovering Strength, we love acknowledging all cultures!! We are a multicultural team and this reflects in the clients we support so we feel it is important that we teach the celebrations and traditions of others particularly when these moments celebrate bringing us together. We have come to the end of another term. Can’t believe we are heading towards Christmas. Our soccer group celebrated Best and Fairest Awards, this term being awarded to Elijah and to Declan. Elijah is new to our 4 o’clock additional needs soccer program while Declan is a veteran of the 5 o’clock group for more experienced players. Declan has been training with Melton Phoenix soccer club as a result of our program and hopes that his skills are good enough to make the team. We wish him all the best. His confidence has increased dramatically. Once again we would like to thank coach Diva who the kids love and Mick’s Jump and Play for their donation of our trophies and supporting our program. Get on down to Reserve Rd Melton during the school holidays and support those that support us!! Have a great break everyone!!

This weekend Discovering Strength saw Sebastian grade to Black Belt. He is the second to graduate from our Additional Needs class with this achievement. This journey will be with Sebastian forever. His grit and determination will be an inspiration to himself during tough times but also to others that he helps to teach in our class!! We couldn’t be prouder. Big Congratulations 🙏🙏🙏

This is huge Discovering Strength family!! Sebastian presented himself on Sunday to see if the other Shihan’s and Sensai’s from Shindo Karate agree that he is ready to go for his black belt!!! Well guess what he is!!!! You are going to smash it Bas!! So proud!!!

Parents vs Kids Basketball game is how we always end the term in this program. Love seeing the kids grow in strength but better still confidence!!! Welcome to the group our newest Support Worker Noel! He absolutely loves supporting our kids. You will see him in other groups as well next term!! Have a good break everyone and we will see you all again in Term 3 unless of course you are participating in our School Holiday program!!
