The Australian Physical Activity Guidelines recommend that adults aged 65 and over aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity most days, but if that feels overwhelming, start small — begin with 10 minutes once or twice a day and gradually build up to 15 minutes twice daily over a few weeks.

Activities such as walking, gentle stretching, or chair exercises are great starting points, and you can add simple strength and balance exercises as you progress.

Moderate intensity means you should feel a bit breathless but still able to talk comfortably.

Regular movement improves strength, balance, heart health, mood, and independence.

Remember, every minute counts, and consistency at your own pace is the key to long-term success.
