Back in 2024 I took a big risk in leasing some of our horses out up to Queensland, mind you I was concerned I was doing the wrong thing, but gave this person the benefit of doubt he would look after them amd give.them they same care and respect as I do. Fast forward a few months i hear from him saying no interest in my stallion at stud, and that my 4 yo wouldnt make it on the track and my filly was being broken in. He wanted to stand my 4 yo at stud, in which I agreed, fast forward a couple more weeks and I get a phone call to say no interest in the old stallion so he was sending him home. On arrival he had a bad infected untreated cut on the inside of his back leg from is hock to his testicles, under weight and a servere respiratoey infection resulting in a few thousand dollar vet consult and touch and go for survival.
Upon this I rang and said after the commitments of the other stallion were met, I wanted him and the filly returned. Both came back a few months later underweight and full of worms. The filly at that stage had just turned 2, unbroken which in the agreement he was supposed to break to race. Fast forward a few more months and in better health, I opted to send her and my new c**t to SA to be broken in, after 12 weeks they came home, feedback was the filly was lazy, the c**t looks the goods. Fast forward a few more months and no signs of what was to unfold, the filly still being 2 decided she would produce a lovely foal. After much anger, frustration and trying to find out why someone would allow this to happen while in there care, we decided to dna with 2 possible sires. Now we have the results allthough not a desired breeding combo and something we would not even contemplate doing, the facts are it is what it is, and we have decided to have him registered.
He is, what we believe to be the only Tobiano Perlino Standardbred.
His stable name is fitting "LUCKY"
