Yesterday, former King’s resident (1987 - 1988) and College Council President Dr Brett Robinson was named UQ Alumnus of the Year!

Brett was recognised at The University of Queensland Alumni Awards, Courting the Greats, for his outstanding leadership in rugby governance, advocacy for player welfare, and contributions to healthcare and education.

“As a boy from Toowoomba, Mum dropped me off at King’s on my first day, where I immediately fell into a diverse network of relationships and support,” Dr Robinson said.

“My parents gave me the greatest gift – the opportunity to further my . Dad always reinforced that an education comes with the responsibility to lead and unlock life’s opportunities.”

Dr Robinson served as President of King’s College from 2015 to 2022, playing a pivotal role in its transition to a co-residential institution. His distinguished career spans professional , , and , with a strong focus on concussion research in collaboration with the UQ Queensland Brain Institute. He currently serves as CEO of RetireAustralia.

A Big Thank You to QFES and Our Residents

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) for taking the time to speak with our residents about fire safety. Your guidance on what to do in the event of a fire or when the alarm sounds was incredibly valuable and appreciated by all.

A big thank you as well to all the residents who attended — your participation helps keep our community safer and more informed!

A wonderful day out!
We spent a beautiful day exploring the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, surrounded by vibrant blooms and sunshine. The weather gods truly smiled upon us—clear skies, perfect temperatures, and great company all around.
After soaking in the floral magic, we enjoyed a delightful lunch at Drayton Villas. A spectacular day was had by all!
