DNA Health and Lifestyle

DNA Health and Lifestyle Personal and small group fitness training, specializing in Bodyweight, Kettlebells and outdoor training. So what is Progressive Calisthenics you might ask?

The word calisthenics comes from the ancient Greek words kalos (κάλος), which means "beauty", and sthenos (σθένος), meaning "strength". It is the art of using one's body weight and qualities of inertia as a means to develop one's physique. The art of calisthenics is intended to increase body strength, body fitness, and flexibility, through movements such as pulling or pushing oneself up, bending,

jumping, or swinging, using only one's body weight for resistance. If you have seen the latest fitness craze where equipment is a thing of the past then you may have heard of Al Kavadlo (http://www.alkavadlo.com/). The progressive calisthenics system is based around six core exercises for supreme survival strength: pushups, pullups, squats, hanging leg raises, bridges and handstand pushups. With these progressions, you can begin with minimal ability and realistically, safely stack strength on strength—until you are as functionally strong as you could ever want to be. All DNA instructors are certified under the PCC system and are qualified personal trainers.
