Remedial Massage Therapist located in Middle Ridge. Striving to offer you excellence. Book online or call 0427 251 487. I’ll see when I get there.
I definitely feel blessed to have the best career and clients in the world! I’m passionate about what I can do to help others and learning more to sharpen my skills in order to try and help people stay out of pain and engaged in life for as long and as much as possible. In 2012 I completed my Diploma of Remedial Massage, Diploma of Aromatherapy and Cert IVs in Massage, Aromatherapy and Book Keeping (who needs a life right?). In May of 2012 I began with Denese Mentor Remedial Massage and I was with Denese until the beginning of 2018 (best boss ever!). At the beginning of 2018 I moved to my current location in Middle Ridge, where I currently work from the front room of my house. I have quite a diverse range of clients and focus my specialisation on injury management and chronic pain. Since my graduation in 2012, I have completed a minimum of 20 hours professional development every year, usually studying various workshops. Though some years I go nuts and spend closer to 70-100 hours studying. I try to stay well informed of new research and changes in practices. In 2018 I completed my advanced certification for Dry Needling, spending over 80 hours with CPD Health Courses. In 2019 I completed the Master Class level of Dry Needling Training. I completed a Diploma of Musculoskeletal Therapy through the Academy of Integrated Therapies in 2019. I began studying a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Honours) (Clinical Exercise Physiology) part time at UniSQ in 2021, and will complete that in 2027. I am hoping to potentially combine my skills as a Remedial Massage Therapist with Clinical Exercise Physiology, and potentially move into a specialty, such as Chronic Pain. A few years left yet 🙂
In 2023 I am pleased to introduce Electrical Therapy into my suit of treatment options, utilising Microcurrent Therapy and Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation in my clinic. In my personal life, I am the proud mother of a beautiful teenage daughter and I participate in Competitive Powerlifting (notice I said participate there… haha).

Remedial Massage Has Been Approved To Reopen In QLD!
Hello Everyone, on Wednesday morning the announcement was made, that the QLD Government made amendments to the exceptions of what is considered a non-essential business.
Under "Spas and massage parlours" they have added into the Exceptions column: "...Massage therapy for the management or prevention of a disease, injury or condition, provided by a qualified massage therapist, with social distancing observed to the extent possible."
As such, I will be reopening my business as of Tuesday the 28th of April but I have decided to stop working Mondays, so that I am only working 5 days a week from now on.
I have also been directed by my association ANTA, to limit the longer appointment times, particularly the 90 minute and 120 minute appointments to clients who genuinely need that long for management of their injury or condition.
As a reminder, if you have any cold/flu symptoms, or any concerns of having any viral infection, please don't come. COVID-19 aside, a massage can make any virus worse (and I tell people this every Winter). I will be implementing the extra measures I was putting in place before we got shut down to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Thank You and I look forward to seeing you again!
Kathryn
PS. My daughter's surgery went well and she's on the mend. We got back home late Tuesday night, that's why there's been a delay and I'm not starting back until Tuesday next week. Thank you again!

Good Morning, I just wanted to let everyone know that after a long wait we finally have a surgery date in Brisbane for my daughter Gabby, on Thursday the 19th of March.
I will not be available between the 19th - 25th of March and depending on how she is, I may see a reduced number of clients until she is better (though I am assured she will be on the mend and feeling better quite quickly).
Thank you everyone for your prayers and support during this very difficult time, we are so glad she will finally be able to get well and go back to her normal life.
If anyone would like to book online, I have crossed off the dates I am not available on the online booking system, so feel free to book whatever it says is available. You can do that here at: http://www.kathrynsremedialmassage.com/bookings
Thank you and Take Care,
Kathryn.

A Little More Sparkle, A Little Less Stress,
This Christmas I Wish You The Very Best.
Merry Christmas Everyone!. I truly hope you are able to rest and see your family this festive season.
Thank you for choosing me as your Remedial Therapist this year and I really do appreciate you as a client. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to help you this year with your health and I hope I can be of assistance again for you in the New Year.
Hello everyone! So I finally made a video about Dry Needling!
I'm so excited to introduce this technique! It certainly is the best thing I've learned since becoming a Remedial Therapist.
I just wanted to explain a little bit about it so you can make an informed decision about whether it's something you want to try. You definitely don't have to if it's not your thing!
I should mention that it's not possible to promise any results. You are a unique individual with a unique set of genetics and circumstances. If you are struggling with pain then this is just another possible road that may give you some relief.
If you have any questions at all feel free to contact me!
Thanks and Take Care 😊

Guess what I did this weekend!
I'm super excited to introduce Dry Needling to my clinic and I know so many of you will really get great benefits from it (and if you don't want it that's totally fine too!)
I'm putting my order in for the equipment today and then we're good to go!

This is a photo from the 80 hour Dry Needling Course I completed this weekend with CPD Health Courses. My partner here is Louise and she's an awesome physiotherapist from Brissy.
I was studying here with physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and some other remedial massage therapists.
The course was absolutely fantastic and I can't wait for my equipment order to come and really show anyone who is interested how awesome Dry Needling can be!

Over the years my passion for helping others through the health and wellness industry has only gotten stronger.
In 2012 I completed my Diploma of Remedial Massage, Diploma of Aromatherapy and Cert IVs in Massage, Aromatherapy and Book Keeping (who needs a life right?).
In May of 2012 I began with Denese Mentor Remedial Massage and I’ve been with Denese since (she just turned 70 – she’s awesome stock!). I meet new clients everyday, but I am blessed to have some who have been seeing me the full 5.5 years I have been a therapist.
Since my graduation in 2012, I have completed a minimum of 20 hours professional development every year, usually studying various workshops (actually I did closer to 70 hours in 2015 when I studied Onsen + Cyrax Friction…. as well as I was studying Psychology at the time too… that sounds nuts when I write it down!).
These include workshops in:
Muscle Energy Technique (MET)
Neurostructual Integration Technique (NST – a form of bowen which I don’t use as much anymore except on the jaw)
Onsen (structural and functional assessments of the muscles and skeletal system – I am creating a new service with this training that I am excited to be bring you soon!)
Cyriax Friction (for sporting injuries – again I don’t use this one as much any more… it can be mean haha)
Sports Taping (Kinesiology Taping and Active Taping)
And I look forward to expanding more into Kinesiology (muscle testing), foot mobilisation techniques, Myotherapy and so forth in the coming years.
Other than that on a personal level I’m a home body and clearly a nerd. I have an 8 year old daughter and my wonderful partner David.
My hobbies are based around fitness, reading and healthy eating (or icecream – I can’t pick).
