The Discovery Tour participants dedicated the morning to exploring the Old Mill grounds in South Perth, prior to visiting Bibra Lake, a vast freshwater lake within Beeliar Regional Park. This area is celebrated as a prominent recreational hub, recognized for its natural wetlands and birdlife, with a pronounced emphasis on preserving the wetlands and their biodiversity. Despite the adverse weather conditions, everyone appeared to derive enjoyment from the day, which concluded with a warm lunch at Dome in Manning.

The Discovery Tours/Water ways participants visited Loch McNess (Nyungar: Wagardu Lark), a freshwater lake situated within The Yanchep National Park. Loch McNess is part of the Wanneroo wetlands and water from the lake was utilised to replenish the underground pools and streams in some of the nearby caves, however the project was ultimately unsuccessful and subsequently discontinued. We observed koalas 🐨, walked the grounds and viewed the expansive visitors centre containing local craft. Lunch was served at Jinderlee Beach Shack overlooking the Indian Ocean. It was a perfect day.

The Discovery Tour participants had the opportunity to explore the Matagarup Bridge and its surrounding areas today. As a 370-meter-long pedestrian and cycle bridge, it effectively connects East Perth to Burswood and Optus Stadium. The traditional custodians have named it 'Matagarup', which translates to 'a place where the river is only leg deep'. The bridge's distinctive design features sweeping arches, symbolizing the Wagyl (a Noongar water serpent) or swans, and is illuminated at night. Following the tour, participants enjoyed a BBQ and games at Burswood Park.

The Discovery Tours group visited Lesmurdie Falls today, an area that attracts visitors particularly during late Winter and Spring, when the falls are flowing and wildflowers are blooming. The falls tend to be dry in Summer and most of Autumn. A range of walk trails are available, with varying levels of difficulty, including: The Falls Trail, the most popular, is 640m return, Class 2, and takes approximately 30 minutes. Afterwards, the group embarked on a short drive to the Kalamunda Visitors Centre and Library, followed by lunch at Dome, Kalamunda.

The Discovery Tour participants enjoyed a seamless day out exploring Noble Falls in Gidgegannup. Noble Falls provides a tranquil ambiance for picnics, nature strolls, or appreciating the waterfall's beauty amidst jarrah, marri, and blackbutt trees. The wildflowers were in bloom, and the falls, which are most vibrant during Winter and Spring, were a breathtaking sight. It's an ideal location to relax and reconnect with nature. Lunch was welcomed in the outdoor garden at Noble Falls Tavern, overlooking the falls.
