Thoracic mobility isn’t just for the gym — it carries over into running, sport, and everyday life.

Pain doesn’t always mean stop.
Sometimes it means train differently.

Kristy presented with hamstring tendinopathy — a frustrating injury that often lingers when people rest too much or return to activity too quickly.

Instead of avoiding the hamstring, we progressively loaded it.

Tendons need progressive mechanical load to remodel and regain their capacity.

Kristy’s rehab focused on gradually rebuilding that capacity through but not limited to:
• Heavy Romanian deadlifts for posterior chain loading
• Prone hamstring strengthening for targeted tendon work
• Step-ups to reintroduce strength into functional movement

When the right load is applied at the right stage, tendons can adapt, strengthen, and become more resilient.

The goal isn’t just to get out of pain — it’s to come back stronger and more resilient than before.

Rehab isn’t about stopping movement.
It’s about learning how to move better.

Building the foundation first 🙌

Before we add load or complexity, we make sure the movement pattern is solid. Control, balance, and positioning all come first — because good strength is built on good movement.

Here we progress from a dumbbell B-stance RDL to a barbell B-stance RDL — same movement pattern, greater loading potential.

Starting with a dumbbell B-stance RDL allows us to learn the hinge, control the weight, and build confidence in the pattern. Once that’s consistent, we progress to the barbell B-stance RDL to increase load and continue developing strength.

Master the basics, then build from there.
