The Mildura Chocolate Company, Document Destruction service, and SPARK Kiosk are closing.

Unfortunately, these social enterprises are casualties of ongoing increases in resources required to keep operations running. Closing these businesses will allow us to continue to focus on our core business of providing local disability support for local people.

AroundAgain, the Container Deposit Scheme and GrowAbility Nursery will continue to operate by the Christie Centre.

We ask everyone to understand that consolidation of our operations is the only way to secure a future for the Christie Centre.

A note to our suppliers and contractors at Mildura Chocolate Company, Document Destruction and SPARK Kiosk: we are working through the process of winding up these social enterprises. We will be in touch.

The closure of these enterprises will happen in a methodical way over the coming months.

An incredibly difficult decision has been made to close three of our social enterprises - Mildura Chocolate Company, Document Destruction service, and SPARK Kiosk.

Unfortunately, these social enterprises are casualties of ongoing increases in resources required to keep operations running. The businesses will be wound up to allow the Christie Centre to continue to focus on its core business of providing local disability support for local people.

AroundAgain, the Container Deposit Scheme and GrowAbility Nursery will continue to operate by the Christie Centre.

We ask everyone to understand that consolidation of our operations is the only way to secure a future for the Christie Centre.

🌡️ Extreme Heat Update – Christie Centre & Social Enterprises 🌡️

With extreme heat (> 40oC) forecast over the coming days, the Christie Centre and our Social Enterprises will be making temporary changes to services and operating hours to keep everyone safe.

To protect the wellbeing of participants, staff, volunteers and the wider community:

• Some services or activities may be adjusted, shortened or paused
• Outdoor activities may be reduced or cancelled
• Opening and closing times may change at short notice

These decisions are made with the health and safety of our people as our highest priority.

We will share information and any changes as they occur on our pages and appreciate your understanding and patience.

If you have any queries please feel free to contact us. Please take care in the heat, stay hydrated and check in on one another.

With the continued extreme temperatures of over 40 degrees the GrowAbility nursery will be closed for the remainder of the week. Unless there are changes, we will be reopening on Monday February 2nd at our usual time.

As a social enterprise of Christie Centre Inc, we believe technical and life skills learnt through employment can be key for a person to realise their full potential and contribute to their community.
