How Yoga & Nervous System regulation support your Strength Training
1. Recovery & Adaptation
When you train hard, your body breaks down muscle tissue and stresses your nervous system. Yoga activates the parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) branch, helping you recover faster, repair tissues, and adapt to your training more effectively.
2. Better Movement Quality
Yoga improves mobility, breath control, and body awareness. This directly translates into better form in lifts, deeper ranges of motion, and more efficient movement patterns, meaning you can lift with more control and less risk of compensation.
3. Stress Regulation = More Strength

Quality over quantity.
Quality over chasing heavier numbers on the bar.
Quality over aiming for a “perfect” diet.
Quality over smashing yourself at every possible session.
Quality over punishing yourself for missed days.
Quality over shortcuts that don’t last.

Because the quality of a lift matters. One perfectly executed squat will benefit your body far more than loading up weight you can’t control. Strength comes from doing it well, not just doing it heavy.

Skipping Meals
You think it helps with fat loss, but it often backfires.
Skipping meals leads to:
Blood sugar crashes
Energy dips
Cravings and late-night eating
Poor recovery
Eating regularly, especially protein-rich meals, supports muscle, stabilises energy, and reduces snacking.

At The Lab we do challenges every couple of months that incorporate movement, community, a little healthy competition and personal goals. And after, we like to celebrate. We held a Winter Challenge and had lots of awesome effort, prizes and fun, and headed out for dinner and some laughs to end it.
