providing a stimulating day care to a small group of children in a nurturing ,homely environment. I have worked in the preschool industry for the past 6 years in a long day care environment. I have a diploma in children's services along with current first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis and certified supervisiors certificates.

Today I locked the door to country kids daycare for the last time . I have loved every moment of the last 6 years and have had the privilege of getting to know so many amazing children and their families . I sincerely thank all my past and current families for giving me the opportunity to be apart of their little treasures lives . And thank the team at five star familydaycare staff and other educators for there ongoing support and friendship .

Not only was this a fun pouring activity but it also helped build motor skills for the toddlers at just the right stage of development. We have been very lucky here at daycare to have 3 large boxes donated. Using the open ended resource has allowed the children to use their imaginations, creativity and problem solving skills to create rich and complex play .
The children have used the boxes as caves, houses ,fishing boats , buses, cars and garages to park there bikes .

Here at country kids daycare we are play based .play based learning allows the children to have a heap of fun as they are presented with opportunities to strengthen their development . This week we have been engaging in activities around the infinity walk . The infinity walk is an exercise created by Dr Deborah Sundbeck for both children and adults to enhance and accelerate learning by walking in a simple figure 8 pattern . As the body moves through this pattern , there is an increase in the activity transmitting between both sides of the brain. According to research this brain activity improves the body’s overall coordination and endurance while also addressing attention , visual skills, balance and cognitive skills .

It’s harmony day which is a celebration of our cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home .
Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony day . Traditionallly orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect .
So today we have been engaging and n orange collage and drawing with our skin coloured textas, and reading books about friendship .

With all this rain and inside play a play invitation was set up yesterday to encourage big gross motor movements.
As it was an open ended activity it was fun watching as the children lead their own explorations through touching, punching , hitting and kicking the balloons .

On Wednesday we continued our exploration of inclined planes ,today we created a ramp from one water play table to another using our bamboo halves . Mr 1 spend an extended length of time observing, exploring and making discoveries as he learnt to tip his water out at the higher end of the ramp and watch it run all the way down .
