NDIS Pricing Update – Sector Impact

A recent Herald Sun article by Julie Cross has raised concerns about the ongoing sustainability of Support Coordination and Plan Management under the latest NDIS pricing decisions.

🔍 Key points:
🔹 Prices have been cut in real terms for the 7th consecutive year
🔹 The Fair Work Commission’s wage increase has not been passed on
🔹 Changes were made without consultation with participants, families, or providers
🔹 Establishment and rural/remote loadings for Plan Management have been removed with less than 2 weeks’ notice
🔹 Support Coordination and Plan Management pricing has not been benchmarked against similar services in other sectors (e.g., Aged Care, TAC, WorkCover)

In 2023, over 600 Support Coordination providers closed—a trend that may continue if these pressures persist.

Support Coordinators and Plan Managers are a vital part of the NDIS ecosystem. They help participants navigate the system, build capacity, and ensure supports are implemented effectively.
