Happy Primary Care Nurses Day to these incredible professionals!!!!

Cheryl, Ro, Bianca and Sarah make a vital contribution to our community and practice every day.

This day is dedicated to recognising the essential role nurses play in health and wellbeing of communities and we would be lost without them.

Welcome Dr Hannah Derrig!

If Hannah looks familiar, that is because she spent some time with us as a Resident Doctor working alongside Dr Emma Thompson and Dr Meike Flore in 2024.

Hannah completed her postgraduate training at Wollongong Hospital and is excited this year to return as a GP registrar and start her career in Community medicine. Dr Hannah has a strong interest in preventive and holistic health, as well as Women’s Health and Paediatrics. In her spare time, she loves discovering new hikes, visiting the beach with her puppy, travelling and tending to her house plants.

Introducing Dr Alister Turbayne!

Alister was born and raised in Canberra and prior to studying medicine at the University of Notre Dame Sydney, spent many of his early adult years working in a variety of positions including boarding house master, labourer, and pharmacist assistant. Whilst he gained many insights from these roles, his real goal has always been to become a family GP and provide holistic care.

Alister enjoys the variety that community medicine offers and is looking forward to further hone his skills in all areas of general practice at Milton Family Medical Practice.

In his spare time you’ll find Alister swimming in a rockpool, walking his dog, doing watercolour painting or baking some delicious bread.

He believes the first step in exploring our health concerns is discussing these issues with a compassionate listener. He believes is building a strong therapeutic relationship with his patients.

We are pleased to introduce Dr Kathlyn Andersen.

Dr Kat is originally from Sydney and completed her medical degree at The University of Notre Dame in 2020. Kat found her way to medicine after undertaking a degree in archaeology and psychology as well as a Master of Public Health.

She has practiced in various locations in Victoria and NSW and has a background in orthopaedic surgery. She also has experience in plastic surgery, general surgery, vascular surgery, general medicine and emergency medicine. As well as working in general practice, she will continue to work part time as an orthopaedic surgical assistant.

Kat fell in love with the South Coast when she took the long way home on a road trip one Christmas. Outside of medicine, she has too many hobbies to count from travel to painting to breadmaking. However, when she is not at work, you will most likely find her outdoors surfing or snorkeling.

Dr Andersen will be available for appointments from February at our Milton practice.
