Courtesy of Divine Purpose:~

I don’t need constant noise to feel alive.

I can sit in the silence without shrinking.

I can feel the boredom without escaping.

I can hear my thoughts—and not run from them.

I trust that what’s underneath the scroll urge, the background noise, the mindless distractions…isn’t emptiness.

It’s me.

And I’m not afraid to meet myself here.

One of my long term art therapy clients - is so inspirational to me. I had been eyeing this piece (acrylic on canvas) that she did last month. I loved it so much I asked if I could purchase it, she said yes🙏. This piece holds lots of meaning for both her and me, now I am blessed to own it. Well done Carol 🎨🙏

Theres often a lot of confusion around Yoga~ whats on offer in Australia today - heres some info courtesy of Yoga Australia website. It pays to do you homework about what you are walking into when attending your first Yoga Class. Yoga styles differ a lot!
Ashtanga (or power): Fast series of athletic poses designed to make you sweat. Traditionally it's strictly a fixed sequence.
Vinyasa (or flow): Less intense than power yoga. Poses flow from one to another and are synchronised with breathing. Can be in a heated room.
Restorative: Uses props to encourage deep breathing and mental and emotional relaxation. Replenishes energy not deplete.
Hatha: a broad, classical style. Poses and breaths flow like Vinyasa but are gentler, calmer and no heat.
Bikram (or hot): Typically a fixed sequence over 90 minutes in a room heated to 35-40 degrees Celsius.
Yin: Long periods of deep, passive stretching to release connective tissue. Poses are held for minutes.
Iyengar: Slower style with a technical lens to classical yoga poses. Focus is on precise alignment and correct posture. Can use props.
In 2004 I was qualified with a Diploma of Health (Yoga) then in 2006 I was re qualified with an Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching. We had a taste test of many different styles during our training. I was teaching under our dear Dr June Henry's wing for years prior though. Hatha Yoga via the Satyananda Tradition was my lineage ~ Later initiated with my yoga name 'sri swami satya sangeetananda saraswati' by Narga.
Later I discovered Hatha Laya yoga to be more aligned with my style. Our group was the very first Government Recognised yoga teacher cohort in Queensland, prior to that Yoga was not taken seriously. Yoga Australia (YA)continues keeping Yoga Teachers accountable and prior to commencing new classes please check if your teacher is registered with YA.
***I hope to recommence teaching weekly yoga classes in 2026, hoping to establish a long term/year round venue 🙏.

We had another wonderful young man in care come and stay with us on respite for a week - what a little gentle man. He absolutely loved to surround himself with the animals and nature. We did some gardening, drumming and play.🙏😁🤩
