Greetings dear ones - I hear you ask 'what is this all about?' ...this Grand Mother Owl's Letter Writing Circle?
Its about connection, friendships, using our brains and creativity, listening inwardly, expression through ink and paper, something tactile you can feel, seal, post and receive! Writing will help you grow!
'Why bother when you have the internet?' Let me just say there are MANY reasons why people choose to connect with pen and paper~ when you reach out and connect to get to know others you actually get to know yourself. There are many benefits to putting some time to write aside.
🪶 Why Handwriting Letters Is a Beautiful Idea
(From the desk of Grand Mother Owl)
1. It slows us down.
Handwriting invites us to pause, breathe, and sink into the present moment.
In a fast world, writing becomes a small act of mindfulness.
2. It strengthens emotional connection.
Seeing someone’s handwriting — the curves, the pauses, the pressure of the pen — feels personal and intimate.
Letters carry energy that digital words simply cannot.
3. It becomes a keepsake.
A handwritten letter can be tucked into a drawer, a journal, a shoebox…
and rediscovered decades later.
It becomes part of a family’s story.
4. It boosts memory and creativity.
Writing by hand activates different parts of the brain than typing.
It helps us recall more, feel more, and think more deeply.
5. It reduces screen fatigue.
All ages are overwhelmed by constant digital input.
Writing letters offers a gentle, screen-free ritual that nourishes the nervous system.
6. It builds community in a meaningful way.
Sending and receiving letters creates a sense of belonging —
a slow, thoughtful rhythm of connection that many people crave.
7. It teaches patience and anticipation.
In a world of instant gratification, waiting for a letter can feel magical.
It reminds us that not everything needs to arrive in seconds.
8. It supports mental health.
Expressive writing has been shown to reduce anxiety, improve mood, and clarify thoughts.
Letter-writing is a form of therapeutic storytelling — for sender and receiver.
9. It encourages self-expression.
Decorating envelopes, choosing stamps, drawing little sketches, or selecting beautiful paper
makes communication feel creative again.
10. It preserves culture and intergenerational wisdom.
Letters become a record of how we lived, loved, and learned. *SEND me your address, and expect a hand written letter within 3 weeks! This could be the start of a life long pen friendship 🤩
