💛 Playgroup Harmony 💛

This week, our playgroup is celebrating Harmony Day, a special time to recognise and honour the wonderful diversity within our group.

Our families bring such a rich mix of cultures, languages, and traditions, and Harmony Day is a beautiful opportunity to celebrate the strong sense of belonging we’ve created together.

We enjoyed completing a bright and meaningful Harmony Day craft, highlighting connection, culture, and community.

With just one more session before our Easter break, we’re excited to finish the term with something colourful and memorable. 🌈

Our playgroups are free, filled with fun activities for the kids, and a great opportunity for you to unwind, meet new friends, and feel supported.

🎉Our TUESDAY playgroup still has capacity for additional attendees. 🎉

It's held at our office - Disability Macarthur, 4–6 Surrey St, Minto from 10am - 11.30am.

✨ Our Family & Kids Connect Playgroups ✨

Our playgroups have been busy lately, with lots of creative fun happening! 🎨

Last week, our families and little ones had a wonderful time making their very own lions to take home. It was a roar-some effort from everyone involved! 😂

Craft is always a favourite at playgroup. It’s such a special way for children and parents to connect through art, while also supporting the development of fine motor skills in a fun and engaging environment.

Our sessions are FREE, filled with fun activities for the kids, and a great opportunity for you to unwind, meet new friends, and feel supported.

💛 Does this sound like you? 💛

Are you a parent or carer of a child living with a disability or chronic illness?

If so, we are here for you. We offer a space where you can unwind, relax and chat by attending our free MyTime groups.

Last week, our Currans Hill group created their own calming bottles. A simple tool that can bring a moment of peace during a busy day. Watching the glitter swirl and settle can support stress relief, grounding and a sense of calm.

We meet on Tuesdays from 10-12 at Currans Hill Community Hall and we'd love you to join us.

✨ A special week at MyTime ✨

Our MyTime groups in Currans Hill and Minto provide a welcoming and supportive space for parents and carers of children with a diagnosed disability or complex medical condition.

Each week, we come together to connect, share experiences and access helpful information in a relaxed and caring environment.

We regularly invite guest speakers to provide valuable insights and practical strategies.

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Monique from Learnerobics to speak with our groups. Monique shared fascinating insights into the inner workings of the brain, learning challenges, different learning styles, auditory processing, and the importance of fostering a growth mindset.

Her presentation was engaging and informative, and we received wonderful feedback.

Playgroups are a fantastic way for your child to practice early social skills, tap into their creative brains and for parents to connect and support one another.

We currently run two groups and would love for you to join us.

Our Minto and Currans Hill MyTime groups are excited to be back for Term 1, 2026. And the good news is that we have vacancies in our Currans Hill group. 🎉

These free groups are for parents and carers raising a child with a disability or chronic illness.

We offer self-care, fresh ideas, meaningful support, and helpful education, all in a warm, understanding space where you can simply be yourself.

We understand the love you give, the appointments you juggle, the advocacy you provide and the strength you show each day can be exhausting, and we are here for you! 💛

We meet at Currans Hill Community Hall on Tuesdays from 10am–12pm.

Children are welcome and will be immersed in lots of fun with our wonderful support worker while you enjoy coffee, morning tea, and genuine conversation with others who truly understand.

💝 Children express love for Valentine's Day 💝

Our free playgroups kicked off recently, and it was wonderful to see our families back, full of smiles, laughter, and energy!

We were especially excited to welcome a new member. 🎉

The children had a great time creating Valentine’s crafts, singing, dancing, and reconnecting with friends. It was the perfect start to the term.

We currently have spots available in our Monday and Tuesday playgroups and would love to welcome new families. ✨

🥳 Holiday Fun at Home: Easy Play Ideas for Little Ones 🥳

We hope everyone is enjoying the break! Keeping little ones engaged doesn’t have to be complicated. Simple play can help them feel settled, curious, and connected. 💛

Here are four easy, fun activities to try at home:

🎨 Water Painting

All you need: A cup of water, a paintbrush, and an outdoor wall, fence, or path.
A mess-free way for children to “paint” and watch their artwork disappear!

🫧 Bubble Play

All you need: Bubble mix (or dish soap + water) and a wand.
Perfect for chasing, popping, moving, and lots of giggles.

🧺 Treasure Basket

All you need: A small basket and safe household items (wooden spoon, soft cloth, plastic cup).
A lovely way for little ones to explore textures and everyday objects.

🎶 Dance & Freeze

All you need: Music on a phone or speaker.
Play a song, pause it randomly, and freeze in the silliest pose!

Enjoy the holidays and have fun making memories with your little ones. 💕
