Welcome Laurence Katsaras—-Acupuncturist
Laurence is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncturist and qualified Naturopath with over 22 years of experience in integrative healthcare. He holds a Master of Acupuncture as well as a Bachelor of Naturopathy, and Diplomas in Classical Chinese Medicine, Classical Herbal Medicine, and Nutrition.
He has completed advanced training in Applied Channel Theory, a gentle palpation-based acupuncture technique used to identify structural and functional imbalances in the body. This method allows the body to “tell the story”, guiding highly individualised treatments that are tailored to a person’s current state of health — helping to uncover root causes and enhance treatment outcomes.
With a strong interest in the nervous system, Laurence specialises in supporting patients with mood and stress-related conditions, including anxiety, depression, fatigue, burnout, and insomnia. He is passionate about helping people understand that these experiences result from real structural and functional changes within the brain and nervous system — changes that are often overlooked in conventional care. His approach brings clarity and tangible explanations to what can often feel unpredictable, making treatment goals more achievable and meaningful. He finds it deeply rewarding to see how an integrated approach can help individuals create lasting and profound changes in their mental health and wellbeing.
Laurence also has a clinical focus on complex and chronic health conditions, particularly in cases where lasting results have been hard to achieve through other treatments. With many years of experience across several modalities, he brings a detailed understanding of how different body systems interact and the underlying drivers of disease. Drawing from Chinese medicine, acupuncture, naturopathy, functional medicine, and an informed understanding of conventional medicine — including pathology and diagnostic testing — he offers tailored, comprehensive treatments that address the causes to create lasting change. Laurence works closely with our GPs, offering joint consultations and integrated, complementary treatment plans to support patients in achieving their health goals.
