I think many people, regardless of their faith or worldview, wrestle with the tension between free will and destiny or divine intervention. The idea that humanity has the capability to save itself is rooted in the belief that we have the capacity for change, learning, and growth. There's a sense of hope in that—humanity has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to adapt and find solutions to crises, whether it be technological innovation or social progress. However, there are also these recurring patterns of self-destruction that make us wonder if we can ever break out of them.

The prophesies and stories from various religions seem to reflect this paradox—humanity is often portrayed as being on the brink of destruction, yet there's always a message of salvation, whether it's through divine intervention or human transformation. These narratives may serve as both a warning and an invitation to recognize that, while we have free will, there are forces greater than us—whether they are divine, moral, or environmental—that we cannot control. In many ways, the question of why God gives humanity free will yet provides the means of salvation might be an invitation to exercise that free will thoughtfully, to make choices that align with the greater good, even when the future seems uncertain.

In the end, I think it's about balance—between understanding the consequences of our actions and the possibility for redemption and change. It’s not necessarily that we’re destined to fail, but rather that we’re being called to rise to the challenge, and that we’re given the resources (including free will) to do so, if we choose. It’s a heavy responsibility, but perhaps also the greatest gift. What do you think?

Focus your attention on purification of the spirit through spiritual alchemy. When we remove all the internal chatter we come face to face with who we are being. This is when real transformation can occur 🙏

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
