EPIC WEEKEND :

I just spent 2 days at a meditation retreat - in the
Buddhist temple

This weekend means honouring noble silence and learning from some of the most noble and happy Buddhist nuns.

- it’s not fancy but it’s raw and real
- it certainly had its challenges and uncomfortable moments

But with these challenges and uncomfortable moments I got so much more …

The connection of mind and body

I don’t post a lot anymore for various reasons -
But today I wanted to share a key lesson I reconnected to once again with these beautiful people

Put simple if you want happiness - you must work on the 3M’s

Mindfulness - Movement and Mindset

Y - because life is not easy it’s not meant to be

Do you have to be a Buddhist nun - I hope not cause I’m really looking forward to a steak tonight

But I do suggest you explore ways to do this - it is transforming

I time to reflect on the last 12 months
Not in a negative way
But in a positive

The last 12 months to be specific
Has brought challenges
Laughter
Highs and lows
For all of us
Because that’s life’s purpose

Today is an opportunity to reflect on you and give yourself a high five

Have u achieved everything you set out to achieve?
Maybe
But instead of focusing on
It being better
And Beating yourself up for what u haven’t done
Focus on what you have
What you have overcome
What you have achieved
Good or bad
Head up shoulders down
Deep breathe
And use this time
This energy
To continue to move in a direction that life is taking you
With acceptance and gratitude

To put it simple

If you roll into a scenario
With a mentality of negativity

- let’s say fat loss or health
“I cant . I don’t . I have a slow metabolism. It is super hard for me “.

Then your thoughts will impact
Your emotions

Which will in turn
Trigger behaviours and habits
Eg emotional eating

Not necessarily positive ones
That support your objective

Then you see negative results
Eg fat gain or no positive health results

Which then Feeds the mindset of
“I can’t “

You have created the negative outcome by your thoughts before you have started

So yes be careful

Roll into
I can
No matter what
And looks at things differently

It can be your blessing
But it can also be your worst nightmare

If you can sit in silence and appreciate the space you are taking a moment to silence the world
The internal dialogue
And just be

If your silence creates uncomfortable then maybe you should spend some time on the why behind that

Why is this important
Because mindset is the first part of metabolism

If you have addressed
meals
movement
and
metabolics ( exercise and supplements )

And still struggle
Could it be that mindset is the missing link ?

Hunger 🤔🤔🤔

There is research showing

When you don’t wake up hungry after a long period of fasting that
Your cortisol levels (stress hormones )
Are high

Now if you identify as

an emotional eater
or
emotional overeater

These stress hormones will impact your decisions later in the day

Because we are hardwired
to
utilise habits
to
save energy
if you have created unhealthy behaviours in the past
it is very difficult to override
especially
later in the day
as your energy dips.

Solution:
Rather than try another diet perhaps try addressing the cause first and the rest will happen ..

Emotional eating 🤪🤪

When you are an emotional eater
You have a connection with food that is beyond
Controlling calories in vs calories out

You can rely on grit and willpower to a degree and this may serve for approx 3 weeks
Or even longer for some

However you an established pattern that will flick in as soon as you either feel like you have broken a diet or become overwhelmed .
In turn triggering emotions of not good enough = emotional eating ..

Instead of all or nothing
Good vs bad
Try
Love
Moderation
And awareness
Look for triggers
And work in strategies to deal with the very reason you eat rather then
Trying to control a system that
Automatic and well established over years

And I can honestly say

The most reoccurring barrier that prevents most people who struggle from achieving sustainable fat loss or health goals
Is

Mindset

Think about it

If you come from a negative place
And you are an emotional eater
The very thing that triggers your emotion is
Self talk and negativity

What do you think happens ???

The cycle continues …

Now if you switch that mindset
And it doesn’t trigger negative emotions
Now what happens ….::

As a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Wellness Coach , Weight loss Consultant, Certified Metabolic Effect fat loss and hormone coach with around 14 years experience I have seen the challenges that women face with balancing Work, family, friends and themselves. It is a massive struggle and one that a lot of us are still trying to figure out. It is affecting our mental and physical health.

I coach in a holistic way where we work with the mind, the body and soul, to support and work with each and every person as an individual. To work with your needs, values behaviours and belief systems in a way that becomes a part of everyday life. By using this formula I have been able to help transform many women from where they are to where they never thought was possible..
