Breath Medicine

Breath Medicine A Community of Practice for Those who Hold Space for Others It’s for people longing to heal, grow, and live with more presence, joy, and authenticity.

Breath Medicine weaves together ideas from breathwork, mindfulness, somatic therapy, earth connection practices and psychedelic therapy. You will learn to journey with the breath to access expanded states of consciousness, and integrate those experiences into meaningful action and lasting change in your life. Breath Medicine is for anyone seeking a deeper connection with themselves, their body, and the world around them. It’s for those who sense there’s more to life than the day-to-day rush - who are ready to slow down, feel, and listen. You might be drawn to Breath Medicine if you:

Are navigating a period of change, challenge, or transition and want tools for grounding and clarity. Feel disconnected from your body, emotions, or sense of purpose and want to reconnect. Are curious about altered-state or expanded-state practices and want a safe and grounded way to explore them. Have engaged in psychedelic-assisted therapy and want to integrate insights and experiences into your daily life. Work in a helping or creative profession and are seeking embodied ways to replenish and stay connected to your own vitality. Simply want to deepen your relationship with your breath, your body, and your innate wisdom. For those who hold spaces for transformation and healing, Breath Medicine supports you to become a deeply attuned practitioner - able to hold space for growth with skill, sensitivity, and presence. Whether you’re drawn to personal transformation, professional development, or both, Breath Medicine meets you exactly where you are and supports you to grow from there.

Introducing Scott Edwards - co creator of The Heart of Holding and lead facilitator on our upcoming retreat.

After 27 years of day-dreaming and naval gazing, Scott discovered serious, formal introspective practice when he sat his first Vipassana retreat in 2015.

This was the beginning of a journey into deep practice, and an exploration of what it takes to create safe, powerful containers for healing and transformation.

He has training and extensive experience in the worlds of meditation, somatics, psychedelic therapy and breathwork. He runs Australia’s largest training program for psychedelic-assisted therapy (Mind Medicine Australia’s Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies).

Introducing another member of our team and avid supporter at our upcoming retreat of The Heart of Holding, Dr Lauren Macdonald. Lauren is a psychiatry doctor, psychedelic therapy guide and group facilitator. For the last few years she has been a clinical trial doctor at The Centre for Psychedelic Research (Imperial College London) investigating psilocybin-assisted therapy for anorexia-nervosa, chronic pain, and treatment-resistant depression.

Alongside her clinical roles Lauren regularly facilitates psilocybin retreats in The Netherlands, and is co-founder of Essence Medicine, an organisation providing psycho-spiritual group support to people facing life threatening illness. Lauren is also passionate about educating future psychedelic facilitators and delivers integrative, experiential and heart-centred training for Mind Medicine (Australia) and PsyEdu (UK).

Lauren has trained in medicine, psychology, MDMA-assisted therapy, and yoga, and continues to be a student of earth-based, Indigenous wisdom traditions. She is driven to help people come home to themselves, unfold more of who they truly are, and deepen into the beauty and mystery of life.
